I personally cannot WAIT for this album. Not only are the songs phenomenal (well, the ones I've heard so far, anyway) but Alex Wong is a *genius* producer and arranger. Check out his project with Amber Rubarth, The Paper Raincoat (http://myspace.com/thepaperraincoat) to hear what I mean. Their EP is well worth the money ... they are definitely my musical discovery of the year, by far. (And I'm not just saying that because their first public performance was in our hotel room at the Folk Alliance conference, either. :) Alas, I will be unable to catch their Bowery Ballroom debut in NYC on the 31st, but anyone within reach *needs* to be at that show. Trust me. In the not-too-distant future you'll be able to look back on it and say "wow, I can't believe I saw them in a venue the size of the Bowery Ballroom." p.s. I, too rank _Dreaming Through The Noise_ at the bottom of the Vienna Teng pile. My favorite of hers is _Warm Strangers_ by a mile. YMMV. - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2008 17:14:48 -0400 From: morayati@email.unc.edu Subject: Re: Who did these songs? This got me thinking and apparently most of my favorite Christmas carols are already in minor keys. What Child Is This/Greensleeves, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Carol of the Bells... I don't know what this says about me.
