I really can't explain just how incredible this album is. Part of me doubted if they could ever top their previous masterpiece, "Takk", but the boys have done it. I listened to the album 7 times in a row yesterday. :) Their sound continues to evolve and mature. The shimmering layers and complex structures of the songs will continue to reward attentive listeners. Jonsi's voice is angelic, haunting - brimming with emotion and grace. I love that he keeps pushing his vocals to its very limits. The album feels very warm and organic.. (something that was missing from their second album, in my opinion).. The songs move smoothly from quiet, piano-driven numbers to driving, upbeat songs with some killer drums. This album is easily one of the best (if not THE best) of 2008.
