I got mine over the weekend, but only had time to listen to half of it while doing something else. I did like what I heard. Much more warmth than her previous, "Harpo's Ghost" not too much trying too hard and, at first listening at least, more approachable. I thought I'd burnt it onto my music player for the trip in this morning, but it doesn't seem to be there. I am, however, doing a first for me, and that's attending her launch at Zavvi (when did 1 Piccadilly stop being Virgin and become Zavvi? I still think of it as Swan and Edgar) at 6pm today. Hope it's okay and that I don't get trampled by the more fervent fans, as I've never actually had a chance to meet her or get anything signed by her. Did wonder about you being/not being at Vienna Teng, but I don't blame you at all. Meanwhile, thanks to all who suggested Ents24, which I've now signed up with. My first coup is a ticket to see Laura Marling at St James' church in Piccadilly. Not convinced she's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I thought that this would be the perfect venue to make up my mind. adam k. np: Portishead/Third. Uneasy and yet compelling listening!) > > PS Adam, I can't make her Bloomsbury show -- would > love to as it's a great venue (we saw Karine Polwart > there), but it's a Monday.
