They're from a variety of places (three stores and one seller on Craig's List) and are all the prefab ones that are available in a lot of department stores like Best Buy or from on-line vendors. Fortunately I got each and every one on sale or in the case of the big single unit that holds 1,000-1,2000, I was lucky to find it, used, on Craig's List. It fit the one wall perfectly, and I couldn't have been happier to nab it ($30, rather than the normal $200-$300 pricetag). My collection was a total disaster before I moved last summer, sitting on shelves and in piles and boxes in three rooms and my front hallway. Moving (for the first time in 21 years) was both a tremendous pain and of great help in weeding through my belongings. I keep hearing "quotes" from Kevin's "Exit the Body" in _Near Life Experience_. If anyone wants to take out their copy of _Aural Gratification: Vol. 2_ and follow along: Compare the riff that starts just after 3:07 in "Exit the Body" with the little flute part starting at 4:55 in "Miserere Mei." Then also, "Outer Marker" starting at 1:10 sounds like a little theme and variations with the same riff. Whenever I hear it I keep hearing the "Exit the Body" riff underneath it. Has anyone else noticed this? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 07 May 2008 16:19:48 -0700 From: jessica spurling Subject: Re: Two Loons For Tea Tour Dates (East Coast, woohoo!) Oh nifty. Wow! What a great line-up. Two Loons and Loop!Station. Man I wish I still lived in the Bay Area (well only occasionally). Loop!Station is a great duo featuring the wonderful Robin Coomer. I used to really love Robin when she was in Birdsaw. A now defunct SF band. They were really psychedelic and yet kind of heavy in a Seattle grunge sort of way. Great musicians but it was Robin's powerful and haunting voice that drew me in. Only saw them once. Great band! Check out their CD called "Fainting Room". There appears to be a few copies left for cheap at Amazon. Nice review of the band and great reference to the power of Robin's voice there too. The CD also appears to still be available at CD Baby. Listen to the third track "Vivid Ghost". Awesome stuff! Oh and Loop!Station has CDs up at CD Baby too. They also have a MySpace page. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-ecto@smoe.org [mailto:owner-ecto@smoe.org] On Behalf Of jessica spurling Sent: Wednesday, May 07, 2008 4:20 PM To: meth@smoe.org Cc: ecto Subject: Re: Two Loons For Tea Tour Dates (East Coast, woohoo!)
