'tweren't me! seems the band is often used as a comparison point, but there doesn't seem to be much discussion about them. >But just in case. And in case any of you are crazy like me.. I am going >to this: http://www.atpfestival.com/ i am crazy like you but i am not going for a variety of reasons. cost is one. but i'm also a little leery about seeing mbv again. i saw them once (city gardens, trenton at the end of february 1992). it was a remarkable experience. i've certainly "mythified" it in my memory (the story i tell now is that it was so loud that i couldn't hear for 3 days, but the ecto archives keep me honest: "my ears rang for a half a day afterwards" is what i wrote in http://www.smoe.org/lists/ecto/Volume01/March_92/Digest.177) so i'm as guilty as anyone else who has gone on and on about how great they were. but i think the time between then and now is greater. i certainly hope they can pull it off -- and i'll be the first to curse myself for not going when the reports of their god-like performance come in -- but, for myself, i want to keep the hazy memory of that 1992 gig as the closing chapter of the band. woj ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #469 ***************************
