Even if demime wasn't processing ecto list mail, it's also typical to have a message size limit (Majordomo's default is 40K, I think) so unless the encoded JPEG fit within the message size limit you still would have trouble trying to post it to the list. All in all, I like it this way; email really should be a primarily textual medium, as far as I'm concerned, and posting large attachments to a mailing list can be quite problematic. It would probably be better for you to put the image up on a web page somewhere and post a URL rather than send a large image as an attachment to all the subscribers of a mailing list. If you don't have a way to do that yourself, I'd even volunteer to put up a copy of the image on my web server here if you send it to me, and post the URL to the list on your behalf. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 20:40:48 +1000 From: andrew fries Subject: Re: OT my painting Steve VanDevender wrote: > It would probably be better > for you to put the image up on a web page somewhere and post a URL > rather than send a large image as an attachment to all the subscribers > of a mailing list. You can easily upload your picture to http://www.freeimagehosting.net - very fuss-free process that unlike most such sites doesn't even require registration. Just upload the picture and it will give you a unique URL you can then easily post for all to click on if they so desire. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 06:59:38 -0700 (PDT) From: anna maria "stjärnell" Subject: arcana Hi all.. i keep forgetting to mention bands from Sweden.. Please, if > anyone knows about him, let me know. Thanks! :) I would advocate not getting home until 6am to see that bill ... seriously. Alex Wong used to be in a group called The Animators, and now he backs up Vienna in her band and also has a project with Amber Rubarth (which Vienna often sits in on) called The Paper Raincoat. That group is my musical discovery of the year... they performed their first "real" show in front of strangers in our MPress Records showcase room at the Folk Alliance conference in February, and I've since seen them a couple times in NYC. Their 4-song EP is brilliant, and I'm impatiently waiting for them to get their act together to make a full record. In short, Alex is great, he's a brilliant writer and a great musician, and he really adds a lot to Vienna's performances, as well. It will be well worth the pain, trust me. :) - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 15:47:51 -0500 From: kerrywhite@webtv.net (kerry white) Subject: OT: photo url Hi, Thanks to Leon I have 2 URLs that can be clicked on or not. 8-) Bye, Kerry http://noomore.org/img/KerryWhite.jpg http://noomore.org/img/KerryWhite_sml.jpg ps: Some evil photoshop wizard made me look old. 8-) KrW I'm Peter Pan! (Priscilla Hernandez) I hadn't planned on watching *Come Back, Kate* -- based on how I'd heard it described, I wasn't too excited. But when Leon sent out the link to it this morning, I thought I'd take a look, and I got drawn in. It's already been mentioned here (when the movie originally came out) that an ectophile, Cynthia Conrad, is in the film. I found her story moving--she had life-threatening cancer and didn't think she was going to survive--and was also intrigued to learn that she is a musician in Connecticut, with a shoegazy band called Blood Ruby. The film featured clips from a Blood Ruby music video, which I'll be eager to see in it's entirety when it gets released. When I searched for her on the web I found a post she'd made to ecto about Priscilla Hernandez. So this evening I went off in pursuit of that. Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBo4tMaLZHY This is good stuff. I think the only other person who's mentioned her on ecto is Anna Maria.
