Terami was, indeed, sweet, and clearly excited to have been on the same stage as Happy. Terami struck me as a music fan as much as she's a musician, and I suspect we would have gabbed away even longer about various artists had Emm not taken the stage. > I thought that Entropy 29 was a masterpiece and I can't > wait to hear what she has in store for us next. I have to be honest and say that I probably listen to the remix album _From the Ash_ as much as I listen to _Entropy 29_, which didn't click for me the way _To the Bone_ did. But yes, I love all three of Terami's official albums, not to mention the remix album and all of the wonderful discs she's graciously mailed to her fans over the years. Hooray! new Terami! jeff n.p. _Orbit_, Casey Stratton (yup, another album is coming out and available as an advance digital version at http:// www.caseystratton.com. More of the same, so if you liked the last couple....) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2008 23:03:53 -0500 From: "Paul Blair" Subject: Noe Venable CD Release Concert NYC 3/28 This just in... - ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Noe Venable Date: Feb 17, 2008 10:15 PM Subject: Noe Venable's CD Release Concert .: The Honey of Experience Please join us for . . . Noe Venable's Record Release Concert! in celebration of her new CD ~:: The Summer Storm Journals ::~ Friday, March 28, 2008 8pm The Zipper Factory Theater 336 W. 37th St. NYC @ 8th & 9th Aves. The band I've got onboard is pretty much the lineup of my dreams, and the Zipper Factory seems like the perfect venue in which to make music together. To begin with, opening the show will be one of my very favorite musicians-- marimba virtuoso / composer Payton MacDonald, also known as Supermarimba. When it comes to Payton, superlatives fail. He must simply be heard to be believed. As American Record Guide wrote, "The rippling, shimmering textures he creates are hard to describe. I can't begin to imagine how he accomplishes them. Marimba wizardry? The cozy harmonies, the velvety propulsions, the gliding layers groove like some gauzy gamelan. As I listen, I'm drawn through a trance into the dizzying spell of MacDonald's Marimba-Oz." Following Payton's own set, he will join us for ours, which will feature . . . Dean Sharp (drums) Todd Sickafoose (Bass) Russ Johnson (Trumpet) Jacob Lawson (Violin) Greta Gertler (piano, vocals) Payton MacDonald (Marimba) In other words, almost the entire cast of the album, together in one place for the first time. (We weren't even together in one place when we recorded the thing!) The venue is also really special-- it's a former off broadway theater, and it's fab. It's also quite a bit larger than our usual haunts, so we're hoping that you will come and bring everyone you know. Bring friends! Bring enemies! Come help us celebrate. Thank you all. Combine this with knowing that Veda Hille is going to be playing in NYC a month later on a night when I'm going to be away, and I just want to repeatedly bash my head against the wall.
