I totally love their 2006 self-releases CD "Extraordinary Rendition". They sing in French, Spanish, English, Hindi and Roma. They sound like Paris Combo, Camille, chanteusses, gypsy and pop. The band has cello, trumpet and TWO accordions. It's just totally charming. They have just been picked up by world music label Cumbancha for re-release. That's a strong label, so a nice step for them. Any Bay Area ectofolk know anything about them? (Sue?) http://theaprilfishes.com/ I'm also enjoying the Arts & Crafts Sampler Volume 4. That's the label that brought out Broken Social Scene/Feist and Stars. It's full of great understated pop music. BTW, glancing at their web site, there is a Stars concert available and a bunch of videos. http://www.arts-crafts.ca/ neal np: fur and gold - bat for lashes ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 06 Jan 2008 20:04:26 -0600 From: Timothy Jones-Yelvington Subject: Re: Dammit I wish it was easier to find the stuff she's already done (well that soundtrack is easy to find, but I don't think I should start there). ~tim On 1/6/08 1:00 PM, "Paul Jensen" wrote: > Darn!
