I know he's considered uncool, but Souvenirs was one of the first rock albums I ever really bought, and for a while it looked as if my tastes were going to develop along West Coast lines. Luckily, I discovered prog rock and my credibility remained....well, as it was, really. Still love Souvenirs and Captured Angel, even "Twin Sons of Different Mothers" although I never went much beyond that. Felt I had to post, as I'm sitting at my desk in London and I can guarantee that there is absolutely nobody in the whole damned building that I can say anything about this to. Merry Xmas to all, Adam K. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2007 07:39:39 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: Dan Fogelberg Hi, Adam Kimmel wrote: > Breaking cover, here, just to say how sad I was to read this. Wow, I had no idea until your post ... that's so sad. He was way too young. I always had a childhood-memory soft spot for his stuff, "Leader of the Band" in particular. That was my mom's favorite song for a long time. :) I appreciated how he managed to make hits out of pretty simple folk songs. - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2007 09:40:59 -0600 From: Doug Subject: Re: Dan Fogelberg On 12/17/07, meredith wrote: > Hi, > > Adam Kimmel wrote: > > Breaking cover, here, just to say how sad I was to read this. > > Wow, I had no idea until your post ... that's so sad. He was way too young. Wow, I *still* have no idea, since neither he nor you mentioned what there was to be sad about. Unless it's liking Fogelberg's music. - --Doug ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2007 09:44:29 -0600 From: Doug Subject: Heard in an Arby's... ...playing over the sound system: Lost, by Sarah McLachlan, off her Solace album. But a pleasure nonetheless. - --Doug ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2007 07:56:34 -0800 (PST) From: Ellen Rawson Subject: Re: Dan Fogelberg - --- Adam Kimmel wrote: > Breaking cover, here, just to say how sad I was to > read this. Not at all uncool. I'm a folkie, remember? I saw him at Red Rocks. I went to a Tim Weisberg show in Boulder, Colorado, in the very early '80s. Guess whose twin showed up? Dan, of course. :) *sigh* Ellen ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #341 ***************************
