(well, there will be an ectophilic presence between greta and alice bierhorst and noe venable, the latter two who will singing back up, but i meant in the audience of course.) (and if anyone does go, i recommend NOT parking on west 4th east of lafayette -- you will get towed after 10pm; i speak from experience!) regardless of whether or not one can go, make sure to note the recent appearance on wfmu -- listening to it now and it's quite lovely. http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/25366 woj - -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Edible Restaurant Live! Kaplan THE NEW YORKER: "Greta Gertler, a Brooklyn-based Australian singer-songwriter with a fondness for lushly orchestrated seventies-era pop, appears in the company of the Extroverts, a group that includes a tuba and a bass drum. They?re celebrating the release of Gertler?s new album, ?Edible Restaurant,? which, while it is a less elaborate production than her earlier efforts, is just as rewarding." TIME OUT NEW YORK: "Expat Aussie Greta Gertler has attracted all kinds of attention with her unusually appealing ?70s-style singer-songwriter approach. Her Extroverts include members of the scintillating Slavic Soul Party! Tonight?s show celebrates the release of Gertler?s new one, Edible Restaurant. I was wondering if anyone could help. I'm steadily accumulating far too much music and it's getting harder and harder to keep track of them. Does anyone know of any good programs/utilities to help me categorize or organize them? Specifically, I'd like: - - A way to categorize songs as well as albums. I'm one of *those* people who listens to individual songs more than entire albums at one sitting, which I'm working on, but anyway. Something similar to what Wikipedia can do would be ideal: you could have a Category: Covers for cover songs, Category: I don't know - maybe Category: Minor key songs for minor key songs, Category: Geese if I had a lot of songs about geese and wanted to categorize them as such...you get the idea. (I hope.) - - A search function. - - Ability to add my own notes. - - It not to cost TOO much. I don't mind spending a reasonable amount but anything above, say, $50 is too much. (A lot less, preferably. Free would be even better.) - - No icky spyware or sketchy stuff, but then that goes without saying. I've been looking and have been coming up short. It doesn't have to be specifically for music. Any suggestions? - -Sarah ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Nov 2007 13:56:59 -0800 From: Neile Graham Subject: Toni Childs news Toni Childs news for those interested (from a reader of the Ectophiles' Guide). > >Name: Jennifer Wilson >Topic: Correction > >Toni Childs has a new self-produced/fan-funded album out called Keep >the Faith.
