So, I take it no one went to see this? A documentary about Kate(fans) with, supposedly, Happy singing and an interview? On the big screen? You have 3 more chances. Yes, it will eventually be shown on Dutch TV, but the television version is going to be shorter. Who knows what they'll cut out for the television broadcast...could be Happy. If indeed Happy is in it, which I don't know if she is, because no one has come forward yet, here, on MySpace, or the Kate forum, with a report from the screening. And who knows when it will end up on DVD? *whimper* PLEASE someone go see this and report back. - --- Xenu's Sister wrote: > YOU HAVE TO GO SEE THIS! Pepper's" of Xmas albums is Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas". The coolest jazz versions of classics/standards ever, plus a few great originals. I've gotten some other stuff by Guaraldi, but nothing he did measures up to this. This was his finest hour. And for sentamental reasons, I must tip my hat to John Denver's "Rocky Mountain Christmas". I grew up hearing that album, on vinyl, every Christmas, and I think it's wunnerful. Now I'm gonna go look for that Enya holiday ep at Target! - - Gregory B. _________________________________________________________________ Your smile counts. There is a pause after the film fades to black and the score reaches a crescendo, and then "Lyra" begins. The first time Kate sings "Lyra" the name of the girl who played her is on the screen in gold letters...it could've been timed a little better because her name disappears quickly and then suddenly Kate is singing the rest of it "..yra" under Daniel Craig's name, but no matter. This was a screening at the Director's Guild of America, but was open to members of any guild (writers, actors, wielders of gaffa, etc.). About 80 - 90% of the audience stayed in their seats as the credits rolled, giving applause here and there for names that they knew or were familiar with. As such, they sort of obliterated the song here and there, but they did hear it. After the song ends, there's a slight pause and then the score comes back in (the strings that come in are a bit like the strings in the alternate "Hounds Of Love" -- fast-paced as if a race were happening). Kate's name and credits for the choir and Noble and Brite happen near the end under the score. No one was applauding any of the credits by this time (forgive them, she is virtually unknown to most Americans), but someone in the row in front of me did say her name out loud as if he had been tryng to figure out whose vocal had ended a few minutes before. The song does feel appropriate for the credits and for the movie, which is a journey and a little darker than I'd anticipated, but still not as adult and dark as, say, Lord of the Rings. there would be moments I wouldn't want a younger child to see. Anyway, I'll post more info about the movie in the movie thread, but I wanted to comment on the song (yay, it is played for the full 3 minutes) here first. Robb ========= The whole song is played! That's good to know. The song in film starts with "lyra...lyra...." which only appears for the first time in the youtube vid about 50 sec' in. Obviously they have been listening to more than the youtube video over on the kate list.... but, that was the only version posted here. so.... there ya go! >There >is a pause after the film fades to black and >the score reaches a crescendo, and then "Lyra" >begins.
