Camel is a favorite, for many years. Thanks Bill for bringing my focus back to it. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2007 13:53:16 -0800 (PST) From: "Xenu's Sister" Subject: "Lyra" played on BBC radio (link to repeat broadcast) http://tinyurl.com/2razrh I can't get the player to work for me, so I haven't heard the song yet, but other people have (lucky sods) so I guess it's there, about 44 minutes into the show. If that link doesn't work, you can navigate to the page yourself with several clicks, just follow the links. It was played on BBC radio (http://www.bbc.co.uk/) 6 radio Steve Lamacq Roundtable Thursday November 22 If you hear Led Zeppelin, you're on the wrong page. Keep trying until you hear a crappy rock song with a female vocalist. Track listing for show: ADELE - Chasing Pavements (18) KILLS - URA Fever (25) SONS & DAUGHTERS - Darling (29) EBONY BONES - We Know All About You (21) KATE BUSH - Lyra (22) MIRACLE FORTRESS - Have You Seen (22) Album KYLIE - X (11) I've been able to hear the first minute or so of that horrible first song (note to self: Adele sucks) before I get an error message and it stops. But, it's something to do with my system because others have not had a problem at all. God I'm depressed. A new Kate song, and I can't hear it. That's ok, I have the song now (if anyone wants a copy you can e-mail me) though I haven't heard more than 30 seconds of it. I'm waiting for Chris to get back so we can listen together. The beginning is cut off of my version, so be forewarned. I don't know how much is missing. Ah well, we'll have the soundtrack in a couple of weeks. And yes, I do plan on buying the soundtrack and buying the single on iTunes, so I don't feel guilty about hearing it early. Ha, all this time, since I first read the books years ago, I've been mispronouncing "Lyra" as leer-uh. It's lie-rah. Just me? No, not just you. That's exactly what happened to me. The beginning and end is cut off, from being played on the radio with talking cut out. http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=6-jOEb0rN3Q I think it's beautiful. It's not what I expected, but I think it will be stunning coming at the end of the film, hearing it loud in a darkened theater, after following Lyra's journey.
