Here's what you do: If you live in the US or Canada: Send $19.00 ($15.00 for the CD, $2.00 for First Class postage, and $2.00 for packing and handling) for one CD. If you live in the UK, Europe or Australia, send $21.50 ($15.00 for the CD, $4.50 for First Class International postage, and $2.00 packing/handling) for one CD. Anyone anywhere else should double-check with me on postage rates. $4.50 seems to be pretty common but just in case. If you're getting more than one CD, write me and I'll figure the postage. I'm going to assume that everyone wants one CD unless I'm told otherwise. (I already know some of the people who are ordering more than one, so I'll get back to you folks, but you can write me to make extra sure I've got you covered) If you're paying by PayPal, send to cptbryant @ aol . com Then forward me a copy of your PayPal receipt. If you haven't already given me your address, please do when you forward me your receipt. You can also put your address on the PayPal notes. If you'd prefer to send a check or a money order, write me and I'll tell you where to send it. Include your address when you write me. If you'd prefer the CD sent by Priority, Express or Overnight, write me first so I can get rates. ====================================== Ok, a situation has arisen... I have a terrible confession to make. Happy insists on paying me for my time. I've argued with her to no avail. All that hoity-toity talk about me not taking money from Happy has just crashed and burned. She insists that *I* get the $2.00 packing/handling fee. I don't want it. I never wanted to do anything that made it seem like I was working for Happy, that she'd have to pay me to do stuff that I'd gladly and joyfully do for free, but she insists. I adore Happy, but she's too darn nice for her own good. While once it reaches her it's her money to do with what she wants, before it was her money it was your money, and so now I feel doubly terrible. By Happy paying me $2 per CD sent out, I'm taking *your* money AND *her* money. She says that if I continue to charge the $1.00 "handling" fee, she'll give me that $1.00 plus another $1.00 out of her own pocket. That *WOULD* be taking money directly from Happy's pocket and the thought absolutely appalls me. So I have to tell you guys, your $2.00 is going to me. I'm sorry about that. I didn't ask for it, and I don't like taking it, but there it is. All I can say is that I'll use it for bus passes to get to the post office, and to pay for the fees on my Happy web sites. I'll try to make sure that every bit of it goes to something Happy-related that will benefit you (the bus passes) or Happy fans in general. This is really hard to write, but I wanted to be honest with you guys. I'm not going to go into this when I ask for the $2.00 from people on other sites (like MySpace or the Kate forum) but here it is for you to know, and public record to show that I'm not trying to keep it a secret. THUD!! (The sound of ideals being compromised) Any questions about anything, write me. After hearing all the buzz about Noe Venable (as well as her inclusion in some of Vickie's Suspended in Gaffa podthings) I dropped into noevenable.com, downloaded the sample tracks from _Summer Storm Journals_, and was in short order hooked (especially by "Prayer for Beauty"). So I wandered on over to cdbaby.com and ordered _Summer Storm Journals_ and _The World is Bound by Secret Knots_. And since I was there and the EWS was kicking in, I also ordered three Emily Bezar albums. cdbaby.com was remarkably pleasant to order from, too. Finding stuff was very straightforward and the cart/checkout process was unusually easy to deal with. And they're just up the road from me in Portland. Darn, between them and Powell's I may have to be careful to not let too much of my income drain away. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Sep 2007 18:18:13 -0500 From: Timothy Jones-Yelvington Subject: Re: curse that EWS! Income drainage in support of Noe and Emily (which three albums????????) is always, always, always a welcome thing. The pleasure you get come not just from listening to the music, but also from knowing you've helped support some incredible artists. I can tell you from firsthand experience how deeply Emily values every album sale. And I got a similar impression from Noe's comments at Ectofest. ~tim On 9/17/07 5:44 PM, "Steve VanDevender" wrote: > Not to mention cdbaby.com as a leading enabler of EWS. > > After hearing all the buzz about Noe Venable (as well as her inclusion > in some of Vickie's Suspended in Gaffa podthings) I dropped into > noevenable.com, downloaded the sample tracks from _Summer Storm > Journals_, and was in short order hooked (especially by "Prayer for > Beauty"). > > So I wandered on over to cdbaby.com and ordered _Summer Storm Journals_ > and _The World is Bound by Secret Knots_. No press has the CD so there won't be any "official" reviews. I'm going to need something, *ANYTHING* to put up there. I don't want the page to be as bare as the RhodeSongs and Rhodes II pages. So if anyone could write something officialesque-looking that I can put up, that'd be great, and then when the CD is actually for sale, please PLEASE people, go to the page and bombard them with customer reviews. That's probably why they have all the rules, so that you'll shop "locally." I wonder how we can get cdon.com to carry Find Me and perhaps other Happy CDs. I looked around the site and didn't see anything about that.
