Robert said if there were no-shows after 7:30, he might be able to let some people standing outside into the venue, but that's a long way to come for such an iffy prospect. If you are on the registration list, I hope you find a ride! Good luck! I've listened alot to that particular album this week. I recon I'll use a song from this album on the less commercial collection of songs. Since it will be built up like my radio show the longer songs ain't gonna fit in there, but both Northern Lights and Opening Out are being considered - the first to opening up the whole thing if chosen. > *sigh* I'm becoming nostalgic. I actually really started listening to them earlier this year. > Can you tell I'm a fan? :) Kinda like ... yes :) - -- Yngve ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2007 15:55:18 -0500 From: kerrywhite@webtv.net (kerry white) Subject: Re: 78 - 86 Hi, Did this emailing mean you went to school with a large number of KaTe fans? If so: Luuckee!!!! you've got to remember Kate had a much wider appeal here in Europe than in the US (well, that's my impression, at least). although I do remember coming to music class with a tape of my favourite music to present to the rest of class, and being regarded a weirdo (I had chosen Waking the Witch). not sure what I'd pick from that period of time. it's a bit early for me, I think. back then I listened to Dollie and Prima Vera (Norwegian bands). Mike Oldfield was a huge favourite, particularily Ommadawn. 10cc, too -- I still listen to Bloody Tourists (e.g. Dreadlock Holiday). oh, Alan Parson's Project! I've never gotten around to reacquiring those albums on CD, so I don't remember what my favourite tracks were called. Abba were at the end of their popularity, perhaps "The Day Before You Came" could be included. or any other of their hits, e.g., "Thank you for the music". Frankie Goes To Hollywood marks when I really started to listen to international (English) commercial music, on Radio Luxembourg on the medium wave. Relax, Two Tribes and the Power of Love -- such an impressive triumvirate from a debut album, holding the three of the spots in the Top 5 at one time! - -- Kjetil T. np: Tamara Williamson: The Arms of Ed (absolutely lovely -- in retrospect I see she's been mentioned here lots of time, now I'm kicking myself that I didn't take notice.) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2007 20:26:49 -0400 From: "Paul Blair" Subject: Re: 78 - 86 Surprised no one's mentioned Dire Straits yet.
