I once looked into this and it didn't look all that favorable. Greyhound (actually Vermont Transit) from Manchester to Boston is $22 round trip, but you've only got 2:40pm and 9:50pm into Boston on Sat, and 8am, 1:15pm and 11:45pm back on Sunday. Then you've also got to have some way to get yourself from the airport to the station, 6 miles away. There is allegedly a limited-service bus stop at the airport, but I can't find any scheduling info available there. Getting yourself to Lowell (35 mi from Manchester) via Greyhound and then taking the commuter rail in costs more ($30 round trip to Lowell plus $13.50 on the rail) and the bus travel is limited to once in the afternoon. Peter Pan Bus only has a "flag stop" at Manchester and no schedule info. http://www.greyhound.com http://peter-pan-bus.com On 8/5/07, Timothy Jones-Yelvington wrote: > What transportation mechanisms exist, if any, from Manchester, NH airport > and Boston? It's a "Superior Suite" which sleeps 3 but you could probably sneak a 4th person in if you want. The rate is $165 - Robert tells me this is a great price for a Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inn in the heart of Boston, he even wondered if it's a not-for-profit operation (no it isn't). Hi everyone, I don't post very often but I just wanted to say I have bitten the bullet and bought a flight over to see Happy, which isn't a minor thing as I live in Scotland. Basically, I've said to myself for years that I have to see Happy live, as her music is so wonderful and I'd always regret not going. I knew she'd never come to the UK so I have to go for it - so I am!! I'm arriving at 11.40am on the Saturday, and leaving again quite late on the Sunday so I might get some sight seeing done. I've been to Boston before almost ten years ago, but I daresay I'll still be a bit lost so it'll be taxi's all the way for me! I have a friend whom I think could be going to the concert, but that's not guaranteed, so it would be nice to meet up with any kind Ectophiles who wish to accept the challenge of understanding my accent. :-) I've not found any samples online of Noe Venables - does anyone have pointers on her? I've researched Casey Desmond to some extent and I hope to recognise some of her songs when I hear them live - she's got quite a rocky sound and that surprised me, but nontheless I'm rather taken by it so far. I'm so excited at seeing Happy! Is anyone, like, trained in first aid in case I faint?? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Aug 2007 21:55:42 -0400 From: "Paul Blair" Subject: Re: Happy days are here again (groan!) There's a short clip of Noe live on YouTube, singing Greta Gertler's "Grasshoppers"; even though the audio's not that great and the clip cuts off in the middle of the song, it still gives a good idea of what she's like live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwCT_jxhGZE Otherwise, there are plenty of audio clips on her site: http://www.noevenable.com/music.php and on her MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/noevenable YouTube also has a photo slideshow set to Noe's "Prettiness" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUMCuExCMtk&mode=related&search= On 8/6/07, Andrew McMichael wrote: > Hi everyone, > I don't post very often but I just wanted to say I have bitten the bullet > and bought a flight over to see Happy, which isn't a minor thing as I live > in Scotland. > Basically, I've said to myself for years that I have to see Happy live, as > her music is so wonderful and I'd always regret not going. I have a friend whom I think could be There's really no reason to pay for a taxi. There is a new direct bus line (the Silver line) that connects directly to the Red Line, which will take you to Central Square (about a 15 minute walk to the venue). - -j ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #205 ***************************
