At least the "champagne" clues me in that it's alchohol. Mind you, I've been a big Astrid Williamson fan. I adored Goya Dress, and like her solo stuff a lot. I find it both catchy and emotionally affecting with--to my ear--none of the pop cliches that so put me off similar artists. - --Neile > Plus... Bellinis have champagne in them. I bought the album on a whim after seeing it recommended and I love it! They're playing it on the radio station my company operates as well www.wpgu.com - so that's cool! I heard it today for the first time and was really excited. Good to know she's getting radio play. Not TOO surprising though since they play Sufjan and My Brightest Diamond and tons of other goodies. I'm kind of obsessed. On 7/25/07 5:05 PM, "Jon Wesley Huff" wrote: > Great find! I bought the album on a whim after seeing it recommended > and I love it! The album is longly titled "Every Girl I Know Deserves a Packet of Stars" - that being the title track - there is also a video of the "Te-Atawhai" track which was released last year. Amy of Collected Sounds has just done a review - which says it all pretty well.... http://www.collectedsounds.com/cdreviews/everygirl.html in summary.... "Moleta has a lovely, soft, sort of deep, smooth voice. Her piano playing is superb." and "This is a great record." and those of you interested can find more details and sample audio via the usual culprits known as website, myspace, cdbaby, itunes, etc It's worth a listen - if you have never been exposed to Sophie's vocals before.
