("Oh, man, I...I LOVE that album! It's the best album EVER! What? Only #5? I'll take three!!") I got some great music from Fopp over the years, and spent a lot of happy time in there going very, very broke. Last time I was in the West End I also noticed that Steve's Sounds, one of my favourite places for trawling for CDs, one of the shops I used to frequent when I started to get back into contemporary music in the early 90s, has also gone. I used to get a lot of cut-outs and promos here, and still remember having to ask if they'd ever heard of Alanis Morisette (this was before her album went mega) and they had to go into the back and dig me out a copy of "Little Jagged Pill", complete with a sticker announcing its release date. I don't download music, but I do buy a lot more online, so I guess I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to the death of these outlets. But I'll miss them. adam k. - ----------------------------------------------- This mail sent through http://webmail.zoom.co.uk ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Jul 2007 20:42:30 +1000 From: "Lucinda Clairemont" Subject: abra moore, "family affair." i wonder if someone out there would be willing to send me an mp3 of this song? i've ordered the album online, but the song isn't available from i-tunes here in australia, alas. thanks! :) lu. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Jul 2007 11:13:34 -0400 From: gaseous clay Subject: it's in the trees! it's coming! thought that some of youse erstwhile love-hounds might be interested in knowing this (assuming you didn't already). look like it airs at 2:00am on july 6th. unless i'm loosing my eyesight again... woj - ----- Forwarded message from Karen Newcombe ----- To: Love Hounds From: Karen Newcombe Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 14:48:04 -0400 Subject: [LH] Curse of the Demon Hello Lovelies, Turner Classic Movies cable channel is going to be showing the original full-length British version of Curse of the Demon, aka Night of the Demon. Film buffs may already know that Tourneur's vision for the film was somewhat mangled by producer Hal Chester, and that the US version was trimmed enough to mar the continuity.
