Funnily enough, American Airlines also tends to have pretty good deals at times. So I guess those would be my recommendations of places to start. - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 03:00:02 -0400 (EDT) From: Mike Matthews Subject: Today's your birthday, friend... i*i*i*i*i*i i*i*i*i*i*i *************** *****HAPPY********* **************BIRTHDAY********* *************************************************** *************************************************************************** *********************** BunkyTom (no Email address) *********************** *************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- BunkyTom Tue July 02 1968 Cancer Anders Hallberg Tue July 03 1962 Cancer Kevin Harkins Thu July 05 1973 Cancer Laurel Krahn Mon July 05 1971 Cancer John J Henshon Mon July 05 1954 The Year Of The Horse / Ruled By The Moon Jim Gurley Mon July 06 1959 Cancer Lisa Rouchka Fri July 08 1960 Moonchild with Java Rising Courtney Dallas Fri July 09 1971 Catte Michael Peskura Sat July 09 1949 HallOfFamer Finney T. AND the place will have a piano on stage. if folks are flying in from across the pond, this might be indicative of something. i'm in touch with the principals, and everything is still very cool, though embryonic. but i think i better look even harder for another place. - -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge." ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 10:10:24 -0700 (PDT) From: Ellen Rawson Subject: Re: Ectofest Quest...tions - --- robert bristow-johnson wrote: > > if folks are flying in from across the pond, this > might be indicative of something. Wish I could, but school resumes again on 28 August for me. (It doesn't end until 20 July.) At least for those non-teachers who can fly out in September, airfares to the US resume semi-reasonable prices once the autumn term commences. August rates are ridiculous as all airfares are increased during the school holidays. I'd rather stay at home. It's okay; the flights all probably will be from Stansted anyhow, which is over three hours from home. It's enough to tolerate Ryanair* for the short Bournemouth-Dublin; I can't imagine being on one of their flights for a long-haul trip. Now, if it were Germanwings, I might try it. They're the German version of Ryanair and just as cheap (Gatwick to Hamburg, at least), and they actually have some customer service. And when they say they're only boarding tickets 1-30, they mean it. They turn away number 31, unlike Ryanair where it's simply a mad rush, even if you spent the money for special advanced boarding. To make this more Ecto-friendly... I was in the Southampton Borders after work and was intrigued by the CD playing. It was Catherine Feeney, she whom I heard open for the Indigo Girls in Bristol this past winter. At the show, I remember thinking that maybe she'd be decent with better sound (her sound was awful - -- the sound was fine for IG, so I suspect she didn't have a sound check or not much of one). Anyway, the CD sounds better. Ellen *On a rather wretched flight home from Dublin on Ryanair last January (when they boarded those of us who paid three euros for the special advanced boarding at the same time as everybody else), my husband and I made up new slogans for Ryanair. My favourite: "We're Ryanair, we don't have to care!" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 15:20:14 -0500 From: kerrywhite@webtv.net (kerry white) Subject: Re: Ectofest Quest...tions Hi, How about a 'head count' of those who are traveling from the outer reaches. I am now thnking I might get a plane for early the 8th and leave that night, in the early AM of the 9th and not worry about a place to stay. If a number wanted to stay up somewhere I would join them, if everyone is going to just find a place to sleep then I wouldn't. Vickie where are you ?? bye, me KrW I'm Peter Pan!
