Hi Everyone, I sent this out the other day but I never saw it post on Ecto. So I am not sure it made it through. If this is a repeat I apologize. It may be a bit corny but the sentiment is sincere. All the best! Bill -----Original Message----- From: Bill Mazur [mailto:wpm@value.net] Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 8:59 AM To: My Fuzzy Blue Friends (ecto@smoe.org) Subject: Happy Sweet 16! Hey there Ectoplasm / Ecto! Happy Sweet 16! You have really grown up and are getting more beautiful all of the time. Please tell your big sister Happy and your Aunt Vickie that I said hello. In fact please send my love to all of that wonderful Ectophilic family of yours! ;-) Love ya! I haven't been around for the entire 16 years but pretty close! I've had the opportunity to meet quite a few over the years, most importantly Happy herself (I must throw Kevin and Vickie in there too!), and others too numerous to mention! I don't post all that much but I keep up with all that's going on. Thanks to all of you that contribute to this land of ECTO (and what a magical, mystical land it is!). Happy 16th and many, many more. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2007 22:54:34 -0400 From: Philip David Morgan Subject: A sweet Sweet 16 to the Ectofamily Saluton! Just a short de-lurking to join the anniversary celebration if it isn't too late to do so... A toast to all on the list who've stayed on despite and because of everything. That includes all the close friendships that we've grown over the years (and blessings to you, Cyo, for yours). This is quite a week for anniversaries... this weekend, it's the 40th Anniversary of Diane Wolkstein's storytelling career, complete with a special Saturday of stories in Central Park (URL below)... how time flies (too fast?)... Cheers! Happy is relieving (if only too briefly) the Happy Rhodes Deficiency Syndrome (HRDS) in our collective hearts, Noe is releasing a new CD, and Casey is an interesting young talent local to the Boston area (her parents are the Bentmen - here is an example of the kid being more securely fastened than the wild-and-crazy parents). Estrogen, intimacy, edge, whatever the ecto-muse is about. A *dangerously* high cool-per-gig ratio. Bring medication. The domain ectofest.com has been secured and Meth has told me that we can update ectofest.org also with this event. Neither website is up yet, but will be soon. List member Mike Weis is doing the web site. (thank you, Mike!) I just want y'all to be appraised of this before you schedule that Andean mountain climb and lock it in. Although the date and town are solid, and the venue (LilyPad) is secured, there may be a possibility of getter a better and/or bigger space, and you will be informed of such change if it happens. The capacity of the Lily Pad is 80 and (hoping), if we all go nuts and the capacity of this becomes inadequate, I *will* be looking for a bigger space and we'll keep y'all informed. Even so, I want to let the ectophiles on this list know about this event firsthand. I will make some arrangement for out-of-towners to secure a spot so that, if it does sell out, you won't be driving to Boston just to be turned away. Let me know (via e-mail) and we will work something out. In fact, knowing how many are coming can help me greatly. Personally, I am just beside myself, the artists are psyched, and Ectofest lied dormant for too long (6 years), so ... ... It's time to breathe some life back into the Ectofest! We'll use electroconvulsive therapy if necessary. Hell, we'll use it even if it ain't. "It's alive!!! aaaugh!" So, if you live in the NorthEast, puhleeze make plans for this. And if you're living in the Heartland or on the Left Coast and you have money to burn on airfare (JetBlue comes to Boston), you are all the more invited. Some of you caught wind of this before (leaks can't be helped), but now is the time to mark your calenders. Talk it up! If you know any Ivy-Leaguers (there seem to be a quite a few of them around here) who know not the Gospel of Ecto, nor of her aforementioned prophets, please TELL THEM. We can use locals at this gig, too. My Inbox is open for helpful suggestions, unhelpful suggestions, criticisms, requests, spam, multimillion dollar deals from Nigeria or the UK, whatever. I'm shooting from the hip with this, but it's such a "target-rich environment", that I'm not particularly worried. This gig is one not to be missed. - -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge." ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #158 ***************************
