My previous boss used this "flushing out" phrase consistently as well. And it drove me nuts. I managed to keep my mouth shut by repeating "you know what she means... you know what she means... you know what she means..." in my head, but it was a battle each time. Think there might be a common regional and/or pop culture source for the phrase? Or is it just one of those things that develops independently over and over? Maybe it's just a question of changing her sense of timing, so she picks up "dot dot dot" by saying it to a different beat. I am kind of ecstatic too as she is going to be playing at my wedding in July (and we just got the final version of the song she wrote for us for our first dance :) ) so if any of you NYC folk get to one of her upcoming shows, she may be busting out the new one to try before the wedding or a cover of Lamb's Gorecki which we asked her to work into her set as well... - -jason np Kristin Hoffmann - Falling - ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul Blair Date: Wednesday, April 4, 2007 10:45 pm Subject: Re: **RACHAEL SAGE & GREGORY DOUGLASS @ THE LIVING ROOM 4/07** To: ecto@smoe.org > Yeah, and that's also the same night Vienna Teng is playing at Joe's > Pub and Kristin Hoffmann is playing at Caffe Vivaldi. > > Maybe we need an ecto gig switchboard where ectophilic artists > can see > if their dates are going to collide with anyone else's ... ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2007 15:28:22 -0400 From: "Paul Blair" Subject: Re: kristin hoffmann - was: **RACHAEL SAGE & GREGORY DOUGLASS @ THE LIVING ROOM 4/07** And if anyone is thinking of going to see Vienna Teng at Joe's Pub, it's sold out (as I found out when I tried to get tickets). Which makes room to see both Rachael and Kristin, if you don't mind the one-hour overlap. Well, you can see Rachael at The Living Room at 9, then that'll give you enough time to get across town to see Kristin's 10:30 set at Caffe Vivaldi. Which is what I would do if I were going to be in the time zone tomorrow, but alas. All you NYC-folk who are similarly SOL as far as Vienna tickets go should do this ... Rachael hardly ever plays with her full quartet, so it's gonna rawk. :) (And Gregory Douglass at 8pm is well worth seeing, as well. I like him despite the fact that he's a guy. ;) - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #85 **************************
