What songs would you pair with a scene from an >existing movie, or even a book passage? One of my favorite books is The Stand by Stephen King, and I re-read it about once a year. Ever since I discovered Happy I listen to her a lot while reading it, or even better, since the timings don't always work out, just thinking about the characters and situations. Songs like "Asylum Master," "Project 499," and later, "Cohabitants" seemed to fit Randall Flagg well. "Ally Ally Oxenfree" fit Mother Abigail, after she disappeared. Harold Lauder is "Possessed." Frannie gets "Ode" because of her father. Larry Underwood would hate it, but he gets "Where Do I Go?" after Rita's death. "Beat It Out" always sounds good when I'm thinking about Lloyd Henreid's imprisonment and starvation prior to meeting Flagg. "Friend You'll Be" seems right for Stu, Larry, Glen and Ralph, especially as they're leaving Stu at the bottom of the washout. "I Won't Break Down" for the "lineup" in Las Vegas. There's more, but I can't think of them at the moment. >PS...Vickie, I miss your posts. Hope all is well. I'm fine, thank you. I took away the temptation of posting on a whim by unsubscribing to the loose mail ecto, and only getting the digest at an account that's pretty much dead. I used to check this account only once every few weeks, but now I check about once a weekish, and ecto is the only thing I look at. This used to be my primary account, until a couple of years ago and I had a hard drive crash and couldn't access it, which is when I started using the xenussister@yahoo.com full time, now this one is just a spam magnet. I open up Eudora and it takes 20 minutes to download the mail because of all the hundreds of pieces of spam. It's mind-boggling. Luckily the digests are filtered into its own folder so they're easy to find. I had 2 cats that we found within a day of each other back in 1989 die within a month of each other last year. Harvo had diabetes and The Other One ("Otto") had a stroke. Plus, my sweetie kitty, Ran Tan, died a few months prior to that (he had cancer but died of a stroke too). I call him my sweetie because he loved nothing more than to be close to me. He was Kitty Putty. I could put him anywhere, over my shoulder, around my neck, in front of the keyboard, and he'd stay there, purring and content. The dead animals thread is hitting home for me too. Here are pics of the cats. Ecto's the only one left of these, but we do have a new cat named Jork (pics not added yet). http://wretchawry.com/gallery/ If anyone needs to write me they should NOT Reply, but mail to xenussister@yahoo.com, or else I may never see it.
