Hey all... I'm working on supplying cover images for all of my tracks in iTunes. An ectophile-type friend gave me a copy of a song from Sandra Lockwood's "Shell." I can't find a cover image anywhere, since no one save the Ectoes seem to acknowledge this album's existence. Does anyone have one they can send or scan? And while we're at it -- does anyone have a full copy of this album they could upload/send me digitally? I'd love to have it in its entirety, and as far as I can tell, it's no longer available anywhere in a form that would benefit the artist.... It's too bad she "gave up." (If that's what happened). She's fantastic. A couple weeks ago a similarly loved elder statescat, Taminy passed away in Arizona, where he had made his home since 1992. Prior to that he had a very brief stay with me, and before that another not-as-brief stay with woj. He finally ended up with my sister, where he lived all nine of his lives to the absolute fullest. Everyone who knew him loved him, and we all miss him terribly. The kitties' time with us on this earth is all too brief... :/ Off to hug Puck and Tam Lin, - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 00:09:57 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: KaTe "Aerial" artwork question (KT) Hi, birdie wrote: > Did anyone notice if Kate Bush put a KT hidden in the artwork of "Aerial"? Yes. It's easier to see on the vinyl, but it's in the bottom right quadrant of the front cover. I found a pretty good higher-res cover image where it's quite obvious: http://www.thegazz.com/blogs/newoldmusic/uploaded_images/aerial_lrg-704402.jpg Click on it so it zooms in, then scroll down. Actually, I would put her in the top 100 for sure ... for her pioneering alternate tunings alone, she deserves some props. As for the female guitarists and whether or not they're on the list, a good way to discover more women who will be missing from future lists is to check out Patty Larkin's "La Guitara" project. http://www.pattylarkin.com/laguitara/ - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Jan 2007 21:23:20 -0800 From: birdie Subject: Re: KaTe "Aerial" artwork question (KT) Wooo hoo!! I didn't really see it until we got the vinyl. :) I think everyone should bury a little symbol on their album covers. It'd help preserve CD sales in the digital age. ;) - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Jan 2007 22:24:54 -0800 From: birdie Subject: Re: MySpace/SNOCAP I'm still rummaging around for the fine print....they must have taped it to the ceiling or something! Anyone whose CDs are available through CDBaby can sign up for digital distribution through them and get their songs on a whole bunch of services, including iTunes and many others. And they do pay -- my record co. has gotten paid quite a bit over the year or so we've been on there. - --Sue ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 01:53:11 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: MySpace/SNOCAP Hi, Another option that's cropped up is selling your MP3s yourself. A couple of the musicians I help out with web stuff are in the process of looking into a service called "Payloadz" (www.payloadz.com), which allows you to sell your MP3s directly off your web site, using PayPal to handle the transactions. If anyone out there has any personal experience with this service, I'd love to hear about it ... - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #22 **************************
