Here's hoping that season four is out soon. Can't belive it's been twenty-eight years since we in the US got to see Kate for the first time. ------------------------------ Date: 27 Jan 2007 16:56:31 -0500 From: Dan Riley Subject: Re: the 100 greatest guitarists Bernie Mojzes writes: > OF ALL TIME, no less. > > http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/5937559/the_100_greatest_guitarists_of_all_time Reminds me of Playboy's "greatest songs of the millennium" list, and Richard Thompson's (#19 on the RS list) brilliant response (which Playboy lacked the wit to use): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1000_Years_of_Popular_Music http://www.richardthompson-music.com/1000yrs.asp I'd wager Thompson's list of greatest guitarists would make for more interesting reading (and listening) than the RS list. - -dan ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Jan 2007 16:24:03 -0800 From: Amy Raasch Subject: MySpace/SNOCAP Chris, At my songwriter circle last week, a working songwriter who has been in the biz for 20 years issued a very strong caveat regarding the MySpace/Snocap music store. I do not recall the specific numbers that were mentioned, but artists got a fairer shake by about 10 cents a download by selling their songs on iTunes rather than Snocap. Strong caution was also discussed in reference to Snocap's licensing policies, which are apparently extremely unfavorable to the artist. I have not yet investigated this personally. I trust this individual's advice implicitly, however, and I do not personally know anyone who has felt that Snocap was something that would work for them. I would personally advise checking this out thoroughly for yourself, reading the "fine print," and exercising extreme caution!
