Somewhere on YouTube there's footage of him playing the violin AND singing, with his bass guitar slung around him and ready to go. He also played rhythm guitar. Majordomo isn't "stupid". :) The reason ecto is set up this way is to avoid the problem rampant on other lists, where personal responses end up going to the list at large (which sometimes causes huge problems). > Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown comes to mind immediately. Wow, I'm jealous you got to see him. I'm not very much into the blues, but I've always liked what I've heard of his stuff. - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Jan 2007 13:10:22 -0800 (PST) From: Ellen Rawson Subject: Pan's Labyrinth - --- Xenu's Sister wrote: Children of Men, Pan's > Labyrinth I missed Children of Men; I'd wanted to see it in the cinema, but since I live in the sticks, a good 18 miles from the nearest one, I don't get out there much. :) I'll have to see it on DVD -- it's available next week in the UK, at least. However, we did make a special trip to Harbour Lights (Southampton's art filmhouse) for an advanced screening of Pan's Labyrinth back in November. Loved it. Yes, I read the criticism and can see their points, but I still loved it. What a piece of magical realism! It's out on DVD in March here in the UK, and it's mine then. :) Ellen "Literature stops in 1100. Hmm... I immediately thought of Fred Frith. There's also Jonathan Segel (of Camper van Beethoven). I'm equally proficient on each, never having learned any chords on the guitar or exactly where the notes are on the violin. :-) ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #4 *************************
