I got to know charlie when his son and my son met in the local park one day, and have since discovered his music. For the other Melbournite members of this establishment, he has had a few gigs around Brunswick in the last few weeks, and I'm sure will continue to have more soon. For those not in Melbourne, he has a myspace site, where you can listen to a couple of tracks: http://www.myspace.com/theoriginalcharliemarshall I hadn't read is bio until just now, and it's quite impressive. His music reminds me a little of Stephen Cummings for those who know him, but it's not a completely accurate match. Anyway, hope it appeals to some of you, and now I'll retreat once more into the hibernation that I've come to know and love .... ;) Happy new year to you all! This collection of recordings was inspired by Reba's move to Berlin, Germany in the Spring of 2004. Though some selections are known from her piano chanteuse days in San Francisco, such as Gardenia and Ricci, many of these will be new to most listeners. Of special note is the lushly produced Kitten, as well as her haunting Here's How. Her next performance, will be in Berlin at the Scheinbar on Sunday, January 28, beginning 8 pm. Happy New Year to all of you, may all your dreams come true this year. Let Transformation and Peace arrive this year! SPECIAL EVENT: Land of the Blind performs at Humanist Hall, Saturday Jan 8th, 10PM more info below Author Norie Huddle will be in San Francisco Bay Area from January 6th - 12th. While she is here, Butterfly Peace Network will host two organizing strategy sessions so that we can learn some wonderful new ways to support each other more effectively as we move ever deeper into this Great Transformation. These sessions will focus on how to activate the Butterfly Network and bring greater prosperity to the transformational movement. She will also offer us new tools that you can incorporate into your work. Norie's book "Butterfly" is now recognized as one of the major models for global transformation. When Deepak Chopra's Alliance for New Humanity held the Power of Oneness Conference in Puerto Rico in December, 2005, Chopra used the imaginal cell concept from her book in their promo. It was also used by Barbara Marx Hubbard as the theme to "Conscious Evolution" and by Elisabeth Sahtouris in her work. The Institute of Noetic Science conducted a two year research study from 1998-2000 on patterns of transformation based on people's real-life personal stories. Their report was entitled "What the Butterfly Knows" and used Norie's model in a sidebar called "Wired for Wings." You can view that article at www.noetic.org/publications/review/issue52/r52_Thompson.html These events are a benefit for Musicians & Fine Artists for World Peace.
