I watched the first epi and thought it was dumb. I assumed the show would get canceled so I gave up after the second epi. I hate it when I get hooked on a show and they yank it. Plus there were too many other shows that I liked better, so I let it go. I caught another epi a few weeks ago and was sad I hadn't stuck with it. But I did find a place to watch them online so now I can catch up.:) - -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. It seems like her work is pretty varied though. I >wondered if anyone has any recommendations? Thanks, Lucinda. During my darkest times, I find that it's best to listen to nurturing music that while sad, can still bring you up. For that reason, I really love to listen to I am a bird now by Antony and the Johnsons. The opening song, with its heart-tugging words: Hope there's someone Who'll take care of me when I die... really suits your black mood, but by the time the album has finished, you have run through the entire gamut of emotions, athe last song on the album, "Bird Gerhl", it is bittersweet yet also triumphant. "My Baby" by Beth Orton is also a favourite, as is "Under the Ivy", "This Woman's Work" and "Day I learnt to Swim" by KaTe. This last one is once again very gentle, brooding and in the end triumphant "I'll let go of you gently, and you can swim to me...." If anger needs to be worked through, then playing the Dreaming at full volume is a must. I have recently rediscovered Prophesy by Nitin Sawney, and apart from the spoken word tracks, the entire musical part of the album could work - the more upbeat ones are very well crafted and imho could penetrate the funk...Homelands is an absolute must as well because the "mouth music" is haunting and the almost cuban catchiness takes you along. Continuing on the Indian fusion, Talvin Singh's It's not over is also another beautiful bittersweet track with a haunting female vocalist keening pristinely over tablas and sitars (and a good bass arrangement, of course :) Cafe Del Mar Volumen Octo also has some goodies for when you're down - it opens with a gentle instrumental of Utopia by Goldfrapp, then track 3 - Sunrise, by Afterlife can bring you out of the black, track 13 - Scripture by Apache is just gorgeous with the gentle sounds of the waves breaking on the shore and the synth and guitar soulfuland the album closes with Lamb's Gabriel, also a gentle and lovely track. I know that there are lots of Happy tracks that could also be played, but I will leave that the experts - I recently listened to MWABT really well, and know that Chariot is definitely up there, but need to listen to the other albums again.
