Yes, Bette Midler singing Gabriel's "Here Comes the Flood" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr9OPrxK560&mode=related&search= Now, I have a sneaking, guilty admiration for Ms M, a respect that's never managed to transform itself into any sort of fandom. I thought "The Rose" was a great film, and her performance in it was brilliant. But this... Having only just seen Happy covering this song with such grace and haunting beauty (and thank you soooo much for posting that!) I stumbled across this link and decided to give it a go. I don't mind the changing of the lyrics, but it's the relentless brassiness and the near-hysteria she brings to it that just....terrifies me. Enjoy. Tonight I go dressed up as myself and try to see Veda Hille at the 12 Bar. I only found out about it last week, so it's a bit of a treat in itself. Hopefully, this time I'll make it. Yes, Bette Midler singing Gabriel's "Here Comes the Flood" Oh. My. That is truly one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen. At least it's redeemed somewhat in the end, as she's clearly cracking herself up by the end of it. But wow. Thanks ...
