["Xenu's Sister" ] New Lisa Gerrard album [Craig Gidney ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 11 Oct 2006 08:09:32 +0100 From: adamk@zoom.co.uk Subject: Tower Records A bit late, here (as ever), but: I was living over here at the time of Tower Records' prime years and although I was in NYC until '83, I have no memory of them there, and used to get all my stuff from either Venus Records on 8th St or a place on St Marks Place called, I think, Sounds. Being a student, it was all second-hand, I admit. I did go to the Village Tower one on one of my visits back to NYC and was quite impressed. Over here, they had an almighty shop in Piccadilly, which was a great place to browse. On the other hand, they opened up a branch in Camden, and it was a narrow, pokey place that really didn't have much that was interesting. To my surprise, though, it closed down within a couple of years. That was when I first began to realise all was not well at Tower Records: Hell, if a multinational can't make a music shop work in Camden Town, then they are definitely doing something wrong! adam k. - ----------------------------------------------- This mail sent through http://webmail.zoom.co.uk ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Oct 2006 11:43:20 -0700 (PDT) From: "Xenu's Sister" Subject: Kate's MySpace page deleted! Much woe. No matter what one might think of MySpace, Kate's fan page was one of the best pages on the site. Either the record company complained (which is one reason why I fear playing Kate on Suspended In Gaffa) or it was just a technical glitch. The deletion of Happy's page earlier this year was, I believe, a technical glitch. Anne Pigalle's page was deleted the other day, and it's really her. Happy's page is back, Anne's page is back, so now I hope Kate's page comes back. Vickie - -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Music, all I hear is music, guaranteed to please... It's more obviously electronic than previous releases. I haven't finished listening to it, but it seems a lot less dark than her other stuff. - --Craig ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V12 #271 ***************************
