I noticed this at the DoubleTree in Portland, Oregon, too. I've been there a couple of times in the past year, and it's always been quite ecto-heavy. - -- Nadyne Mielke nadyne@little-blue-world.org Little Blue World http://www.little-blue-world.org/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Oct 2006 07:42:15 -0500 From: Timothy Jones-Yelvington Subject: Chicago ectoes -- Read immediately Is anyone else in Chicago going to the Issa show tonight at Schuba's? Anne Heaton is INCREDIBLY AMAZING, and puts on wonderfully entertaining house concerts (I know this from much experience :) 2.) Chip @ co. put on incredible, wonderfully entertaining house concerts! :) It's worth going for the yummy spread of snacks alone. :) So don't be lame ... go! :) - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Oct 2006 18:55:34 -0400 From: "JoAnn Whetsell" Subject: new Canadian music: Emm Gryner and Holly McNarland According to MapleMusic.com's last newsletter, "Emm Gryner has two brand new releases available in her online store. The Summer Of High Hopes is Emm's beautiful and deeply personal new studio record. PVT is some Emm classics reworked for your listening enjoyment." Both are $13 Canadian at MapleMusic.com Holly McNarland has a new ep, The Komrade Sessions, which I think is only available at iTunes. It's only available digitally, I know that. More information is at her website, http://www.hollymcnarland.net/ and the new album, that was expected in early 2006 is still expected and named Chin Up Buttercup. If you liked her last album, Home Is Where My Feet Are, you'll enjoy the ep. There are 2 sound samples at the website, and it sounds like the new album will have a harder edge to it. Also, she had a baby girl at the end of September. Congratulations to the growing family!
