(Re: Help vote Happy up on VideoSift I don't know how many votes it would take to get Happy on the front page (which is what I thought the deal was) but several videos elsewhere have WAY more than 11, so I'm confused. In any case, it was fun finding it there, and I've spent oh too much time watching videos. YouTube, Google Videos, VideoSift, man those places are time suckers. It's great though. It's amazing what's popping to the surface. Earlier Chris found Doug Engelbart's entire demonstation from **1968**, "The Mother Of All Demos" where he demonstrated the computer mouse, networking, video teleconferencing, email, hypertext and all kinds of other things that we take for granted today, but which most people had never seen before. Who all is on lala.com? Has this been discussed already? Did I miss it? This summer has been a blur, so if this is an old subject, sorry! Anyway, maybe we can circumvent the system and do some direct trading? Anyone game? BTW, my username on there is Southpaw. Just a last-minute reminder...Rachael debuts *tonight* at Cafi Vivaldi in the West Village. So these are great folks, highly supportive of independent music (our friends Natasha Alexandra and Kristin Hoffman have also played there) and seem to be excited to have Rachael; the venue was extremely persistent in tracking her down and inviting her to perform there - which is rather unusual in this town to say the least! Hope to see some of you there! Note: This is a solo show, two sets, 9:15-11pm with a short break in between. 90 minutes of pure piano mishugas, & Rachael's last local performance until mid-September! So what have I spent literally the entire day doing? Reading ecto digests from 1993. Believe it or not I did have a legitimate reason for going into the archives, and I did get my questions answered pretty quickly, but now it's hours later and I just can't stop. Ah, the memories. We were so *young*! :) - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V12 #220 ***************************
