Do you know if Happy's other albums are going to be showing up on these services, or is she only handling MWABT though them? Cataloging my CDs, I find that the two Happy discs I'm missing (after having much of my collection ripped off a dozen years ago then again eight years ago) are my two favorites, Warpaint and Equipoise. *sigh* Gotta get them again on my next paycheck. Actually, a funny thing about the first rip-off. Moving quickly out of Delaware, I did a massive cull of my record collection, and potlatched it off to some local Ectophiles. The rest of it, which I decided to keep, never made it back to Austin with me (and I've since moved to Dallas, back to Austin a third time, then to DC, then New Jersey, and, four years ago, to here in Berkeley). So at least I know that half the albums ended up in good hands. And some of them have turned into collectors' items over the years. All of which means something about my karma, but I've lost track of what :-) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2006 08:53:00 -0500 From: Doug Subject: Re: Happy videos - 2 more up Vickie, did you post that there was a video for Hold Me up there? I want to see Emily so, so badly. She's the first time I've ever received a reverse fan letter. One of my boyfriend's best friends was one of her teachers at Oberlin, and she found out via him that I was a recent fan and sent me an email to thank ME for listening to her music! She's a saint. The University of Toronto radio station, CIUT, is going to broadcast a recent Paul Kelly concert on Tuesday, 15 August, at 9pm EST. (If you're not familiar with Paul Kelly, he's a singer-songwriter out of Australia, and I can't recommend him highly enough.) I'm in San Francisco, so I obviously can't take this on my own. Could someone in the Toronto area capture it for me? You'd make a fellow ectophile very very happy. :) /nm ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Aug 2006 04:05:57 +0100 From: "Summoner Marc" Subject: Re: OT: Need a favour from someone in Toronto Hey. I have a friend who lives NEAR Toronto and she asks what the station number is, if you know it. She's going to try and get it for you. Thanks though! My friend is going to check tomorrow. She's off to bed now or something. She is going to tape it onto cassette on Tuesday, assuming she gets the station. She lives just outside Toronto you see, so she's not 100% sure she'll get it.
