Any Happy/Bowie fans? Go get some towels to wipe the drool off your face after you see/hear this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Zzt3PEwuM The original quality of this one was crap. We no longer have a working Hi-8 camera and so can no longer play (or dub) the original tapes. I'd had this one on VHS at LP speed (I don't know why). Even on the original, the lighting was terrible, the camera was putting big blotchy white spots on her face, Chris kept jerking the camera around, and there were a million drop-outs on the tape. For this YouTube video, he took out the color which helped with the harsh lighting, softened it up a bit which helped with the drop-outs, and made it slightly spacy to cover up the camera jerkiness. I think it came out very well. There might be another one coming soon. V - -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Music, all I hear is music, guaranteed to please... They sound hmmmmm. methinks the either paste is using the tired old comparison crutches or my ears are completely off their rocker. i've listened to the knife's album, _silent shout_, a couple times and i picked up no KaTe or laurie anderson vibes. comparing them to bjork, though, now that i think about it, isn't too bad of a starting point, though the knife is rawer and less-produced than bjork has ever been. hmmmm. just pulled out _silent shout_ and their electronics remind me of something very specific which i can't quite put my finger on. woj ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Aug 2006 16:54:44 -0400 From: wojbearpig Subject: Re: Don't argu...you know the drill (yes, another one!) one time at band camp, Xenu's Sister (xenussister@yahoo.com) said: >Any Happy/Bowie fans? Also have an advance of the new Charlotte Martin, and she's definitely becoming more herself. I do really recommend this one. Her vocals are still somewhat Tori-esque, but the songs and music feel more themselves. There's a lot of electronic influences in it and this is all a good thing. The songwriting is powerful stuff. I would say this is Charlotte Martin's _The Dreaming_ or her _Boys for Pele_.
