(That's the first two videos, which are full songs.) Here's the official press stuff from Narada (follows below). BTW, if you are interested in French Pop, I highly recommend "Le Pop 3: Les Chansons de La Nouvelle Scine Frangaise". It's full of cool, catchy tunes. I couldn't find a web page for it, but it is listed in Amazon and CD Universe. neal Camille info: "Camille is one of the world's greatest pop stars. The world just doesn't know it yet." - - The Independent (UK) Winner of two Victoire awards this year, Camille is a platinum-selling sensation in her native France. She was first introduced to U.S. fans last year through her distinctive vocals for neo-bossa nova outfit Nouvelle Vague, with her take on the Clash classic Guns of Brixton getting radio airplay nationwide. She is a true original - fresh, provocative, and working on a level of artistry that's unmistakeable upon first listen. The young Parisienne's songs - strung along a constant ambient drone throughout the album (le fil: "the thread") - are strikingly simple, as she multi-tracks her clear, high voice over ambient, minimal instrumental backgrounds to build catchy choruses punctuated with handclaps, blips and vocal percussion. Likened to Bjork, Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson and even Zap Mama, Camille in fact stakes out a stylistic ground quite all her own, with arresting melodies, quirkily unique delivery, and an engagingly witty presence absolutely lacking in pretense or self-consciousness. We ended the night with "Gonna Get Through this World", "If I Had a Hammer" and "This Land is Your Land". Tomorrow night I will be performing a set of original songs with Eamon O'Leary and Lindsey Horner at The Meta Center, 214 West 29th Street, New York at 7PM, which will be followed by a screening of a documentary on the life of my friend, the artist Jerry Wennstrom. Also performing will be my friend Marilyn Strong, and Laura Simms. Presented by The Institute for Spiritual Entertainment, further information about the event and the other participants can be found at: www.ise-ny.org/ Thanks, Susan To unsubscribe from this list send a message to susanmckeown-announce-unsubscribe@smoe.org ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V12 #134 ***************************
