Sarah and Vienna in one place! Awesome. I've seen Vienna twice. Once when she did a small performance for my schools Asian Pacific American group and once at Schubas in Chicago. Sadly have not seen Sarah Harmer yet, but I've heard nothing but good things. Vienna's also going to be playing back home-ish in Berkeley next Thursday, between jetting around the US and heading off to that very cool UK tour. Can't wait. Her entirely reasonable taping policy has deprived me of hearing enough of the new stuff often enough, but this should tide me over until album #3 comes out on July 25. I've promised myself that I won't ask for "Abound" unless she flat-out begs for requests... I'm trying to think of sites that are a good guide for a local musician, but my brain seems to have filtered out all of the almost-perfect ones and comes up with every site that has niggling annoying things. I know this is months late and a dollar short but I'm finally cleaning up my inbox. I got a set of these (thanks Jeff!) and have yet to test them in a high-volume situation. One worrisome aspect of these earplugs is that they have an overall rating of 12dB suppression, not the 20dB you'd expect from their name and their promotional wording. Hearos (which I've been using before and are foam, disposable earplugs) block at 32dB and they've worked well for me at really loud shows. You can get Hearos at pretty much any drugstore. I'll report back when I've had a chance to compare the er20s with the 32dB Hearos at a super-loud show! :) I'm 46, have been an amateur musician for ages, and can still hear that high-pitched TV squealing noise, so you can tell I've taken hearing protection seriously for a long time. :) I just wanted to put in my $0.02 worth. Thanks again, Jeff, for the recommendation. kj - -- Kim Justice justicekw@gmail.com 615.406.4579 "There can always be new beginnings -- even for people like us" - --Susan Ivanova ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 May 2006 22:19:26 -0700 (PDT) From: "Xenu's Sister" Subject: Happy's MySpace page deleted! Happy's profile has been deleted! I certainly didn't do it. All of a sudden it was just...gone! I can think of several possible scenarios. 1) A hacker got into their system and is deleting pages. (Maybe) 2) Just some random technical fuckup. (Very possible) 3) A hacker got into my account and deleted the page (Unlikely) 4) Mr. Canada is involved somehow in a dispute over the name (Unlikely). 5) Something else unknown. I choose #2. If anyone hears anything about a hacker or technical screwup please post. I've written MySpace but I don't expect to hear back from them. The /happyrhodespromo and /equipoise pages are fine. I've changed the passwords on them just to be safe. If I weren't so happy that I had a local copy of everything, all the style sheet data and text, on the page, and I have all the Comments saved as web pages, I'd be very depressed right now. I'll save my depression for tomorrow, when I try to get myself to consider thinking about writing the 4,328 people/bands/solo artists that were on Happy's Friends list. All along I've kept a detailed list of the names and myspace addresses of every single person who's ever requested an add, and everyone I've sent an add request to. Whew! That thought cheered me up a bit. Of course I have to build a new page first. Sigh.
