But she has a new site, it loads very fast on dial-up, and needs nothing in my firewall except javascript, so now everyone can probably see her site. :) - -- John ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 May 2006 03:00:01 -0400 (EDT) From: Mike Matthews Subject: Today's your birthday, friends... i*i*i*i*i*i i*i*i*i*i*i *************** *****HAPPY********* **************BIRTHDAY********* *************************************************** *************************************************************************** ******************** Brian Gregory (no Email address) ********************* ****************** Catherine Sundnes (catzy70@start.no) ******************* *************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Brian Gregory Thu May 09 1963 Eclectic Catherine Sundnes Sat May 09 1970 Very Catzy Heidi Maier Wed May 10 1978 Taurus Kris the boy Fri May 11 1979 Taurus Patrick Varker Wed May 12 1954 Torius Philip David Morgan Sat May 12 1962 Chinese Tiger in Bull Clothing Steve Fagg Tue May 13 1958 Nightwol Karel Zuiderveld Fri May 13 1960 Stier Michael Colford Wed May 16 1962 Taurus Christopher Boek Tue May 19 1970 Taurus Julia Macklin Mon May 20 1968 ethereus Yngve Hauge Fri May 21 1971 Gemini Lisa Laane Tue May 22 1973 Gemini Jewel Kilcher Thu May 23 1974 The Gem Chandra Sriram Thu May 27 1971 Gemini Taina Sahlander Mon May 28 1973 Gemini Urs Stafford Thu May 31 1973 Give Way Perttu Yli-Krekola Thu June 02 1966 Kaksoset Alex Gibbs Thu June 08 1967 Betelgeuse Gleb Zverev Tue June 09 1964 Gemini - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 May 2006 09:08:12 -0400 From: wojizzle forizzle Subject: Re: Wendy's here! one time at band camp, Paul Blair (ciriwe@phobot.net) said: >Wendy Rule is in the U.S. and has a gig this coming Friday in NYC at >Caffe Vivaldi, 32 Jones Street (Off Bleecker Street Near 7th Avenue) >from 9-11pm. bugger! i'd love to come down for this but i'm going to be up in boston on friday. wah! woj n.p. wfmu (i know, shock!) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 09 May 2006 14:27:49 +0000 From: jjhanson@att.net Subject: Re: Wendy's here! I saw Wendy in Denver last Wednesday. It's a great show. She's got a percussionist touring with her. Voice is in fine form. Rueben is along for the tour as well. The new album is great--has much more varied instrumentation (flamenco guitar, trumpets, etc.) than her previous--it's also a pretty dark album. Hi, I'm rather excited as my tickets arrived in the post today to see Sarah Harmer with Vienna Teng at London's Borderline on Sunday, 28 May! It's a bank holiday weekend and the start of summer half term, so I don't have to worry about arriving home at 2 AM and getting up to teach four hours later! Dar Williams' current UK/Netherlands tour has ended; we caught her in Maidstone back on Sunday, 30 April, another bank holiday weekend. It was the first time I'd seen her over here with a band, and she focused on songs appropriate for a band. She did play her cover of 'Comfortably Numb' (forgetting some words for a moment and begging us not to tell Roger Waters :) solo with her acoustic guitar only. I rather liked it; I liked it more than the album version. I spoke with her later, and she confirmed that she'll return to Europe in the autumn -- definitely the Netherlands, maybe the UK, depending on where Rounder Europe wants her. Opening for Dar, btw, was Megson, which were a treat for me. I'd ordered their album (Megson is a duo: one man, one woman) from Fish Records when I was buying something else from them; it was kind of a risk order, but I was pleased with it. I also was pleased to hear them live. Ellen "Literature stops in 1100.
