If so...thoughts? - Mike LONDON, England -- A British singer has signed up by a major record label after broadcasting live performances from her living room on the Internet. Sandi Thom, 24, is now on the books of RCA/SonyBMG after signing with the label at her flat on Monday night. She built up a daily audience of more than 100,000 people around the world. Speaking on British television, Sandi said she could not believe what had happened and that her life had "changed dramatically." "I don't think I have quite realized it just yet," she told GMTV. "It has obviously changed for the better. "I have managed to get massive amounts of exposure through using the Internet and that is something that people have struggled to do for years." Several record labels had approached the aspiring star following her Webcasts, which were broadcast on 21 consecutive nights. RCA label director Craig Logan said: "Sandi is a very talented artist with an already unique story. "We're very excited that we're now going to be a part of that story as she develops into a major artist." ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Apr 2006 11:13:29 -0700 From: "paul kim" Subject: Fwd: Terami Performance News and Monthly Ramble News for those who dig the Terami Hirsch. I've found a few by some of my favorites, Kasia Kowalska, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Natasha St-Pier.. not your standard MTV fare. Geez.. just took a look.. they've got a Sandy Denny video! I just wish I could figure out some way to save them to disk... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Apr 2006 17:08:12 +1200 From: "Karen Hester" Subject: YouTube > From: adamk@zoom.co.uk > Subject: YouTube >...There's not much in the way of ecto content, Well, there is lots of old Kate (eg Xmas special, various TV performances, the parodies). I've used it to watch Goldfrapp videos (quite fantastic, disturbing and sexy) and to catch up on the Zazie and Mylene Farmer videos I've missed. What's up there seems to change a fair amount. Wonder when the copyright holders will begin to get antsy.
