I snagged both '99 and '00 on MiniDisc while trying not to sit in the "goose pooh." I'll track the song down and post a link to the list in case anyone else might want to nab it. >Date: Mon, 6 Mar 2006 10:50:06 -0600 >From: Doug >Subject: Ectofest 1999 > >Looking through some old CDs I noticed the following short MP3 clip: >Happy Rhodes singing Brave Sir Robin (from MP and the Holy Grail), >live at Ectofest 1999. The songs unwind like roads, or stories. Case's voice is as large as the Blue Ridge Mountains, flavored by torch and twang. Her lyrics are meandering vignettes, like the films of Robert Altman and character sketches, like Suzanne Vega or Joni Mitchell, circa THE HISSING OF SUMMER LAWNS. America is mythic land of darkness and salvation in these ultimately catchy songs. - --------------------------------- Relax. Yahoo! A friend wants to record a series of lectures and asked me if they should get a DAT like I have :) I smile, as that is dramatic overkill for the task at hand. But I don't know what is your best bet these days. A few years ago I'd have suggested a minidisc for them, but now I assume there must be some pretty simple, modestly priced packages for recording straight onto some sort of portable memory device that will show up as a drive on a computer. Can anyone tell me what that device would be? It's either that or continue to suffer the wrath of my family. But while looking around for CD storage pages, I found that they're expensive -- at least at Staples. A set of 25 pages that holds 100 CDs (and 100 inserts) costs $25 -- and I have some 5,000 CDs. Yikes! Does anyone have a good source for relatively inexpensive CD storage/binder pages? And has anyone who's moved their CDs from jewel boxes to binders regretted doing that? (I still have a chance to back out of this decision.) - --Bill n.p. You might want to consider paper sleeves. They are really just as good as blank cd cases and I get them for about $1 for 100.
