I did record it and have just watched it, did anyone else see it? She looked a bit strange, but sounded good. This is the perfect marriage of song to video, IMHO. I'll definitely be picking up their CD. One note, though. Their server frequently goes down, I'm assuming because of the traffic. I've had luck getting through in the mornings (US Central time zone). Afternoons are usually down. Keep trying at different times of the day. JCB Video Additionally, here is a little info I've been able to find about the duo. There is a link to the video there, but it only shows a short preview. Hold out for the full-length one, as it has more impact that way. It seemed a bit more honest, at least, than the song that eventually beat it out of the number 1 position at the last minute, one by an X-Factor manufactured 'pop star'. The band itself still is pretty new. I heard a snippet of an interview with them on local (well, south central England) radio earlier this week, in which they confessed that they knew their songwriting skills would improve in the future, but they didn't want to be X-factor types covering other people's songs; they wanted to write their own. Now, this Guardian review of a live gig (I did a search for it; I remember reading it in the paper at the time and thinking, well, three stars from the Guardian ain't that bad, to be honest, despite the negative comments given about song lyrics. Here 'tis. May they grow and improve over the years. http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/reviews/story/0,,1672322,00.html Ellen, pleased that at least Cliff Richard wasn't in the running for the Christmas Number 1. ;) PS Anyone else heading to the Borderline for the Dar Williams/Lynn Miles/Alana Levandoski show on the 25th? Yes, I'm actually making the trek to London from the New Forest on a school night! Eek! I will pay as a teacher the next morning. "Literature stops in 1100. Did no one see "Wallace & Gromit???" I did! It's loads of fun (so was The 40-Year Old Virgin, my favorite comedy from last year besides Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). I have no doubt that W&G will get nominated for an Oscar, and will probably win too. Not that awards matter, but it'll get more attention, just like Spirited Away did when it won the Academy Award. MJM, I'm sorry you and your wife didn't like Brokeback Mountain. It's not for everybody, but what movie is? I loved Titanic, for instance. It wouldn't make my Top 50 or anything, and it wasn't even my favorite of that year (L.A. Confidential was), but I thought then and still think it's a fine movie. Each to their own, and I think it's wonderful that you saw BBM to judge for yourself. The first great movie of this year could very well be V For Vendetta, which is getting amazing raves from people I generally don't trust if they dislike something (to say the least), but usually trust completely when they like something. It looks to be very political and will cause far more controversy than BBM could dream of. It doesn't open until the end of March, I think. I'm closing my ears and humming lalalalala when Alan Moore fans bash it without seeing it. If the movie is good, I don't care if it deviates from the source material. Look at the whining some Lord of the Rings fans did. You'd think that was the most terrible movie ever made! So, not offence to any Alan Moore fans who might be here, but I am PSYCHED about seeing the movie.
