French electro-starlet Emilie Simon has a new cd in march. She seems to be involved with the soundtrack to March of the penguins too. Anna maria Tired of spam? Yahoo! The characters were pathetic and unsympathetic, the plot was plodding and one-dimensional, it was mostly boring and not very satisfying, esp. the lame ending. After all the hype and amazing reviews and press this movie generated, we were summarily disappointed. The Heath Ledger character, in particular, we found exceedingly unworthy and annoying. Yeah, the vistas were nice, but that was about it. Of course, your mileage may vary. The most entertaining movie of 2005 for me was Wedding Crashers. Happy New Year everyone! - -mjm Tired of spam? I would say the most entertaining movie of 2005 was _The 40-Year-Old Virgin_, but I mean entertaining in a GOOD way. :) - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jan 2006 05:08:49 +0100 From: Kjetil Torgrim Homme Subject: Re: Brokeback and jen Trynin [gordodo@optonline.net]: > > and my favorite pushing hands... > > np Jen Trynin - Getaway (February) - what a great great song...and > I just noticed that she has a new book coming out available for > preorder on amazon...all about going pop in the quest for a major > label and "stardom" whatever that means... I didn't see the connection (I don't think there was any), but trying to find one, I searched for "trynin brokeback", which got me this article about the horrible contracts many artists are signed into: http://www.laweekly.com/ink/99/18/music-pearson.php it's old, as you might guess from the URL, 1999, and it only hints at the problems she had with Warner (anyone know what happened?). the focus of the article is Mary's Danish, a band totally unknown to me, although I intend to check them out. the article is worth a read, anyhow. np. Jen Trynin - Gun Shy Trigger Happy -- of course. the whole album is really excellent. - -- Kjetil T. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V12 #12 **************************
