Just a little reminder, RACHAEL SAGE & bassist TODD SICKAFOOSE will be performing acoustically (that's right, Rachael will be playing a real live piano and ditching the plastic for only the second full set of her career, woo hoo!) at ROCKWOOD MUSIC HALL this Friday, 11/18. She's also celebrating her birthday, so there'll be a couple brand spankin' new tunes to mark the miracle of growing younger with every outrageous new ensemble... In addition, this event is a **PROJECT WARMTH** show which means: we're asking everyone in attendance to please bring a warm coat, blanket etc. to be donated to those in need for the winter. Someone from this very cool organization will be collecting the items at the door. So now's the perfect time to get of something you don't need - and give it to someone who'll really appreciate it! Details below, and hope to see you there :) xoxo & light, The Folks @ MPress === **Friday, November 18** ROCKWOOD MUSIC HALL - 9pm A PROJECT WARMTH Benefit Show! Sorry. No review either. Havent heard it yet. Probably not gonna. Price paid: $0. But I nearly peed myself when I found out the Aussie band the Clouds has reformed (at least just Jodi and Trish) as "The Girls of the Clouds" and just put out a new EP :) [so I do know how y'all felt about KaTe's reemergence] and Jodi Phillis has a new solo album out that I didnt know about too... WHooWHoo! I may be the only person in America who is excited by this but I dont care - Penny Century is one of the most gorgeous and catchy albums I own :) Ain't it fun getting excited about the obscure, but then again, to quote Veda, "Things are more beautiful when they're obscure" - -Jason npimh (now playing in my head) Veda Hille - "Strange, Sad" ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Nov 2005 09:10:28 +1100 From: andrew fries Subject: Re: the new release I am excited about gordodo@optonline.net wrote: > But I nearly peed myself when I found out the Aussie band the Clouds > has reformed (at least just Jodi and Trish) as "The Girls of the > Clouds" and just put out a new EP :) Wow, that's excellent news! I'm ashamed I had to find out from someone in the US, but I'm glad at least I found out. Jodi and Trish were good together, better than either of them on her own. Actually there are a couple of other interesting Aussie releases that might be worth mentioning: Cindy Ryan, who some of you might know as one of Stella One Eleven releases a solo album. Before SOE Cindy already had a fairly long, though small scale solo career; she once released a solo EP I always liked more than anything Stella One Eleven has done. So, although I don't know anything about it, I hope I might like this one too. There is a new EP out from a Melbournian Jen Cloher that sounds quite nice (http://www.jencloher.com) And, there is a new album from Claire Bowditch, "What Was Left ". I must admit that although I've been hearing about her for a while now, I don't know much about her, or her music. This might be time to find out... All in all, this means that I'll be hitting the shops soon - Jason, would you like me to pick a copy of Girls of the Clouds for you? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Nov 2005 17:12:00 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: the new release I am excited about Hi, Jason confessed: > No, not Kate Bush. > > Sorry. > > No review either. > > Havent heard it yet. Weekly doses of electroshock therapy while he sleeps unaware, herbs slipped into his tea while he's not looking, and subliminal suggestion are all being employed. Failing that, brickbats are our last resort. We're hoping to avoid that, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do... ;> - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Nov 2005 17:59:38 EST From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: Another(?) Hi, I just found this: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/051115/latu149.html?.v=10 It's a news article about a reality show to be aired next January. About Lisa Loeb. Is it April 1st already?
