You might have heard of him before: before his current solo album, he had two previous bands (Josh Joplin Group, Josh Joplin Band). The former gave him a minor hit of "Camera One". He was a regular on the Atlanta music scene before moving to New York, and still often appears at Eddie's Attic (which is where I first saw him). I've heard people say that he sounds like Michael Stipe, and I hear it sometimes but not all the time. Amazon reviewers seem to disagree with me. Want to hear more? There are currently four MP3s on his site , and a different one (the first single, "Mr New Year's Day") on his record label's website at . /nm ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 21 Aug 2005 00:52:42 -0700 From: Joseph Zitt Subject: Re: Liz Phair's newest raven@igc.org wrote: > At 10:11 PM 08/20/2005, Nadyne Mielke wrote: > >> That website is where I found out that I just missed (as in, >> by one night) a small intimate acoustic show here in the Bay. >> Siiiiiiiiiiiigh. > > > Actually there were *two* shows in the Bay. :) Wow, not many bands get to actually perform *in* the Bay. Well, maybe Not Drowning Waving, the Waterboys, and Phish.... ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V11 #227 ***************************
