I've been reading this list on and off for quite some years now, but maybe posted only a handful of times. I'm a Norwegian ecto-fan "recruited" to discover Happy by Yngve/one_alien back in early 90's when our studies made our paths cross at the same computer lab. Anyway I don't find it too easy writing in English so I seldom find myself writing here, but yesterday I made a discovery that I HAVE to tell you about! I googled the list archives and can't find her mentioned so I just can't let you folks continue to be unaware of: Julie Delpy. Last night I was watching "Before sunset" on DVD with a friend of mine, when the female leading role played by Julie Delpy played a song to the male leading role, and we both immediately fell in love with the song and her voice. I became restlessly waiting for the film to end so I could check out who was singing and if there was more. And Amazon told me told me there's a self titled album by Julie Delpy, released in 2003. I found some songs on P2P-networks and after listening a few times I'm definitely going to order the CD soon, I just have to figure where to get is as cheap as possible. Go discover her yourself: some sound clips on German Amazon: www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00009LI6V/ Here's a (actually Norwegian) fan site: http://home.no.net/site/delpyweb/ The film BTW itself is fantastic. Very special, mostly "walking and talking", but still lovely, very romantic. Here's a link: www.imdb.com/title/tt0381681/ When I got to imdb, I also realised there's a first movie as well, called "Before sunrise", so now I' have to watch it as well: www.imdb.com/title/tt0112471/ Well, that's all from me now :) Cath n.p. I have his CD "B-Sides and Confessions Volume One" and think it is excellent. Jeff and I are looking at hosting him for a house concert in February. He's very well regarded on the house concert circuit. This is the first year that our house concert series has skewed heavily male. We might have to turn in our ecto badge if this keeps up! Actually, we do have some good ecto artists that we are talking to right now. Hopefully some will work out. It's less a lack of interest then a lack of opportunity. neal np: The Sunday Morning Sampler on KBAC nr: Human Cartography - James Gurley At 11:44 AM -0400 8/14/05, Rod Kratochwill wrote: >Sherlyn Koo asked: > >>Can anybody recommend any good contemporary folk podcasts? >Don't know if this is anywhere close to what you are looking for but >I heard about this Podcast on the traditional radio and it sounded >interesting.
