Her new CD, JUMP IN, blazes forth with stunning sonic urgency. Possessing a powerfully beautiful and soaring voice, Tosun's artfully sculptured sound melds enticing global influences with a surging undercurrent of ethereal rock'n'roll. Evocative of artists such as Annie Lennox, Loreena McKennit, October Project and Bjork, Tosun is a unique new voice of considerable merit. Superbly produced and thoughtfully crafted, in an almost operatic scope, JUMP IN pulses with hypnotic rhythms and glorious melodies, all of which provide an enchanting and highly rewarding musical experience not to be missed." *- Edge Life for Cultural Creatives "All this Time (track 2) is a world class, fantastic, beautifully composed and arranged song, got a great hook, and the performance is awesome. This has HIT written all over it and has got a uniqueness that makes it memorable." - - K.C. Stuart, Program Director - Clear Channel Communications "These songs tear open everything we hide and dig deep enough to make us rethink things we've forgotten to remember. Sylvia's vocals are gutsy and vibrant. There is not one moment that you will drift." - - BigRevu.com "Captivating and addictive with a quality certain to enthrall and expand Tosun's loyal following...crystalline vocals that are simply flawless...stunning - a must listen." - - Musical Discoveries ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Jul 2005 23:54:26 +0000 From: iflin@speakeasy.net Subject: rocking play list > Ethan Straffin wrote: > > Hrm. Possibly early LIZ PHAIR too. I will say though, that KRISTIN's first solo album HIPS AND MAKERS, along wih TANYA's later stuff is rather mellow, and would easily be a nice counterpoint to the 50 FOOT WAVE and later day VERUCA SALT. It is relative 0 gees as both the plane and I will be falling at the rate of gravity but the plane will keep the wind out of my face and I will seem to be weightless. A big 'roller coaster" type flight, 2 gees up and 1st 1/3 gee (Mars equivalent) down, 2 gees up and 1/4(Moon) down and then 10 up and downs at 2 and zero. Each will last about :27 to :30 long so I will have spent a total of 5 minutes of my life at zero gees. This is the same type of plane that Apollo 13 was partially filmed in. I get to meet ex-astronauts, have most of a day hanging around and then two hours in the plane. They include taking movies of us and giving us DVDs to take home. I will have a flight suit ,but, I think I only get a Tee-shirt to take home, along with a BIG S____ eating grin that better last me for a long time. 8-) I told some folks and they said "wow" and a couple others just shuddered and asked "why". One guy almost collapsed when I said one other option was to go to Moscow and ride in a MIG in the middle of the day and go straight up 'till the blue sky turns black. But, I am really a big wimp because it would be easy to rent a car and go to the Coral Castle just north of Miami. Google: "Coral Castle" for something I first heard of on L Nimoy's Strange Stuff series. I am going to hotel, plane, hotel, and plane back to Baltimore MD , before driving back to KS. The Peter Pan reference in my .sig will mean a bit more from now on. 8-) ('tho I still have arthritis, damn!) bye, KrW I'm Peter Pan! I'm perpetually young!! OW!! What's wrong with my back? ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V11 #191 ***************************
