I was going through my deleted e-mails when I noticed a heading for Olive and the Branch. I had deleted the message since I didn't recognize the addy and failed to pay attention to the subject line. They were a 70's (I think) era band from the New York area. I would tend to describe them as somewhere between ecto and prog; but this was a live recording that I heard and my sense of genres is rather broad. I heard them played on wpkn (I'm from ct.) some time ago and loved their stuff. The dj had a tape of them from the Norwalk oyster festival. Having little success finding any more info about them I turned to the knowledgeable folk at ecto, who, judging from the lack of response, knew as little, or less, than I (thank goodness for commas ). Well to make a long story a little less long ( I know, it's too late for short) Brook Meggs, lead guitarist and co-writer/arranger for the band recently googled his old group's name and came across my post (and probably precious little else judging from my experience). He contacted me, I just responded and am eagerly awaiting to here from him about recordings and video of which he is still apparently in possession. Ecto works in mysterious ways. np: lovespirals-windblown kiss(only $1.98 at projekt records) -Bill ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 May 2005 13:33:06 -0700 From: Paul Schreiber Subject: Re: Bob's movie, and who should I go see at Schubas in Chicago Meredith wrote: [on Charlotte Martin] > You might enjoy playing the > find-the-KaTe-references-in-her-songs game, though!
