A bit About Saba - ------------------------------------------ An east coast-born, west coast-raised, ULCA-educated Persian San Diegan, Saba's music has caught the attention of coffeehouse dwellers and bar hoppers in socal. Now, she's hitting the road to share her mellow folk-pop tunes with the rest of the state. Last year, performances in a RAINN benefit and the San Diego Indie Music Festival helped make her a nominee for Best Acoustic Artist in the San Diego Music Awards. This year: Who knows? Give her a listen and find out. Way back when I was in high school I won a contest on our local radio station and the prize was the right to come down and pick out 20 albums from their collection that they no longer wanted. One of the records was the Strawbs "Just a Collection of Curios and Antiques". I was mesmerized by their music and wore out the record, replaced it, and wore out the second record as well but I still have them both. My favourite song was a Rick Wakeman number, the last song on the album and it was an amazing piano solo for 5 minutes and 9 seconds. I can't remember the name and my record collection is in Canada and I am in Korea so I can't look it up. Just had a brilliant idea and looked it up on their website. Temperament of Mind was the piano solo and I remember that Martin Luther's Dream was also a favourite of mine. I just got my cds from cdbaby and the company is amazing. They sent an email asking me if I had received them yet and suggesting additional categories I might want to look at based on my selections. They charged me $7.50 for postage and it actually cost them $7.65 to mail it to me. Thanks again to whoever mentioned that it was possible to have them mailed without the jewel cases.
