How did I miss that? I have a very clear memory of hearing (and being blown away by) "One and Many" for the first time in the back room at Brass City Records in Waterbury, CT when she played there with Bon and Hansford and Bob. Of course, I don't remember the exact date of this (or even whether or not it was billed as a Project Lo show -- it may well have been). And of course again, I may be hallucinating the entire thing. I know that Fog and Chuck and woj were there that night too, though -- somebody please back me up!! I also think Happy and the boys played it at The Bottom Line the last time she played there, the night that Anne Heaton opened. (That was last year, right?) I don't remember ever hearing "Here and Hereafter" live, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen at either one of those shows. Some help I am, huh? :} =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2005 16:44:41 -0500 From: cliff Subject: Re: - CD Baby >From: neal copperman >One other interesting CD Baby perk I don't fully understand... >We just had a nice house concert with Siobhan Quinn & Michael Bowers. >They were set up to take credit cards while on the road. Derek (the big boss) answers his phone, answers his e-mail and is always ready to help. And they make donations of technology-usage to my online magazine, RootsWorld, on occasion, when I have an online concerts or special project that required more bandwidth or storage space than I normally have available. So you're not only supporting good artists with your purchase, you're supporting a good company, too! cliff And by the way, 9% is really not a bad rate for a small artist, especially compared to the start up costs and overhead of having your own credit card processing system with a bank. I figured out once that unless you were going to sell more than about 2000 dollars a month, you were bound to spend 10% or more in fees and commissions to a regular bank card company, and the CD Baby system is much more user friendly, too. - -------------------------- Cliff Furnald, editor RootsWorld, the online magazine of the world's music Box 1285, New Haven CT 06505 USA http://www.rootsworld.com Also: cdRoots: importing unusual music from around the globe http://www.cdroots.com - ------------------- Damn George W Bush! Not that I know of. Not the ones I saw anyway. Find Me is the title track, and besides the extra tracks and artwork, apparantly some of the songs will have different mixes from the Sampler CD. Can't! Speaking of which, has anyone noticed that the heavy bass synth pad on "Fall" kind of distorts Happy's vocals? It doesn't sound (to me) like an intended effect, and maybe that's the kind of thing she's still ironing out for the final release. And a word of warning -- Do not turn your car off right before "She Won't Go" is about to start. If you do, you might for an instant think that's there's something seriously wrong under the hood the next time you start your car. That happened to us! :-) Chip ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V11 #80 **************************
