I'm eager to see it sometime. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Jan 2005 21:54:01 +0900 From: Pat Copeman Subject: Walking in the air Thanks for all your help with this. It now makes sense what I heard after the broadcast. I thought they said Peter Ott, who I couldn't find, but now I know it was Peter Auty. Now I have to find "The Snowman" when I return to Canada. First, has this band Nightwish come up on Ecto before? I was checking out some of their stuff a little while back, but I can't remember if I heard about them here or somewhere else.. And, I'd like to thank whoever mentioned GEMM (www.gemm.com). I'd been trying to get the last Kasia Kowalska (www.kasiakowalska.com.pl) CD since it came out 2 years ago, but all my sources for Polish music seem to have dried up.. so when someone mentioned GEMM I took a look, and not only did I find that CD, but also her new one that just came out. Took about 3 weeks to get them, and for the 2 CDs I paid about $34 including shipping, about the same you'd pay for 2 domestic CDs at your local Borders.. And finally, a question... I'm looking into buying a portable CD player that will also play MP3s, I currently have a regular one that I use in the car with a cigarette lighter adapter and one of those things that goes in the cassette player, and I take it into work where I have a power supply and a set of speakers I plug into it. I'd like to find something like that, but one where I can burn a bunch of MP3s onto a CD-R and play that (don't want to be carrying my hard to replace imports around with me). I've seen some where it looks like you have to convert the MP3s to another format, I don't want to have to do that.. just want to dump the files to a disk.. So, do any of you have any experience with these things? Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V11 #2 *************************
