And if you like her solo album you might be interested in this "where it all begun" type of thing - before she went solo, Sarah was in a band I really liked at the time, called Acquiesce. I thought it was a horrible name for a band, but I liked the music. In 1999 they released a 7-song EP called "Aa is for acquiesce'. It's probably not that easy to find, but you never know your luck in the second-hand shops... grab it if you can. Speaking of blasts from the past, my old faves Peccadillo released their second CD! This is a suprise, since Greta Gertler has been based in New York for the last 4 years or so, and released a solo record - but somehow they either got together for their last stand, or maybe they just released the old recordings - I really don't know, but anyway, there it is: their second CD, called "nervous breakthroughs". It is credited to "Greta Gertler and Peccadillo", which is kind of accurate - Greta might've been the main force behind Peccadillo, but she was very lucky indeed to find musicians of such class as Lara, Joy and Peter to work with her. I am very glad to have this record; I was a bit cheesed off with Greta for going overseas, but this CD gives me a sense of closure - and a couple of songs I used to really like in their live versions, now captured on this CD. One of them is "Charlie #3" which some Australians might know as the Whitlams song. This is your chance to hear the original version. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V10 #355 ***************************
