Ok, last post I made had this at the end [demime 0.97c-p1 removed an attachment of type application/octet-stream which had a name of clear.gif?RND=11797&CODE=ENC020] looking at my 'sent' folder it looks like a 46 byte attachment was stuck on the message. My outgoing mail is scanned with Norton, and I believe my ISP scans it too. I forwarded it to my Yahoo mail, and scanned it there, didn't come up with anything. Couldn't find anything on Symantec's site about it. Also, a new mail sent from this account to my yahoo account doesn't have any attachment. I know there are a few here more knowledgeable about this that me, so anyone have a clue what this is? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Oct 2004 10:09:25 -0700 (PDT) From: alan Subject: Re: O.T. what the....?? I know there are a few here more knowledgeable about this that > me, so anyone have a clue what this is? Yes. It is a tracking bug. Someone along the way has attached a reference to a clear gif that will tell someone else (depending on e-mail client) when you read that e-mail. No e-mail client should ever request outside data without user intervention. Unfortunatly, far too many do. Pretty scummy, in my opinion, but people are nosey. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V10 #278 ***************************
