Wow, no kidding! They even list Kirsty Stegwazi's "Jailbirds" and Paradise Motel's "Left Over Life To Kill" - two of my favourites that are these days almost impossible to find in the shops even here, in their home country. Also ... no kidding, they are expensive! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2004 00:19:06 -0700 From: "London, Sherry" Subject: Re: CD Baby order Paul: Loved your list. I have enjoyed Nina Storey for years and have all her CDs. She sings a song in my top ten songs of all time, if I had one, called Crown... off the Shades CD, which came out in '97 or so. Have you seen her live? I was very excited to see that Kendall Payne has finally released another CD, I thought her first one was fantastic. Since you were so kind to put all the links in your email, I took advantage of them and bought all of the cds, except for one, that I didn't already own. Thanks a bunch for contributing to the delinquency of a music addict ;-) sherry Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 00:59:39 -0700 From: Paul Schreiber Subject: Re: CD Baby order ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2004 08:05:54 -0400 From: "Gabriel Laverdiere" Subject: Re: help - brigitte fontaine I recommend you buy the album Morceaux de choix as it's a collection of great songs from her discography (there are a lot of them too on the same cd so it's a good bargain). She also released a cd about 2 years ago that was really neat called Kekeland (with collaborations with Sonic Youth) and she just released a new one this month i think. Of course she's been doind music since the sixties or seventies so she has a lot of records under her belt (and she's also a writer). ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2004 05:55:10 -0700 (PDT) From: anna maria "stjärnell" Subject: cramps neal wrote.. Hmmmm, good point. Perhaps the Cramps are entering a second phase of effectiveness that they haven't been in since the 70's, where they can actually become threatening or perverse again. Maybe my enjoyment of the Cramps in the late-80's and early-90's was always a little off. At that point, the Cramps were no longer threatening, but hadn't quite become a joke. It probably is better to be a bit disturbed by them. (Then again, comparisons to the current Rolling Stones seem to be in order too, and I'm not sure either band measures up that favorably to their "classic" output.) neal np: Radio - Student University of Ljubljana ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Sep 2004 14:24:01 -0700 From: paul kim Subject: people on tour - -Anybody have any thoughts on Butterfly Boucher? She has her debut out on A&M records now, and was opening for Sarah McLachlan earlier this year. She's currently finishing up a coheadlining tour on the east coast. She seems to be getting a reaaaallly big shove from her record company. One of her songs was on Everwood last night (and not in the usual, annoying, blaring, blatant product-placement kinda way shows seem to be using pop music nowadays). A little vague on release schedule though, either late this year or early next. Either way I plan to pick it up. :) Oh, and the title is supposed to be _Peter Gabriel: Play_. http://petergabriel.com/moonclub/news/ In other music DVD news, recent US releases by Everything but the Girl (_Like the Deserts Miss the Rain_) and K's Choice (_10_) are both quite nice, and worth finding if you're a fan of either band.
